Jon747 posted the video that played after Jaedong vs Flash. You can speculate it as a video celebrating OSL's 10th anniversary or the end of Broodwar. Either way it's a nice look at the history of the OSL.
It's lengthy and doesn't show any clips from the games itself, but it highlights many of the emotional moments for the players and fans.

That was a fun video. It was cool to see some players who you have never herd of appear over and over. Best.god is the one who comes to mind now, but there were others.
The other thing that I found revealing was Reach in perticular. When someone created that "best protoss ever" thread, I was suprised to see reach even on there, having only seen his airforce games (not at all impressive) and with one title to his name. But to see his name come up again and again was amasing, from the 4th one ever all the way through to the most recent one.
Agh I got so emotional watching this. Brood War had just been such a staple in my life over the past years. My entire world has changed around me several times but Starcraft was always there. Watching the emotions in all the players... The feeling they must get when they win that title I can only imagine, having worked so hard and having all your efforts pay off to the fullest. My dream is to one day feel that feeling.
This is NOT the end! NOT NOT NOT. Or rather, this is just the end of the beginning. 10 years of glory cannot crumble in a few months of greed and stupidity.
lol, was rewatching the vid and it reminded of something. Back in ancient Egypt if you fucked up badly part of the punishment was having your name removed from all the records/pyramid walls etc. A few thousand years later we have peoples faces being removed from an OSL tribute video rofl.. Poor savior.
wow awesome vid. hopefully it really doesnt mean the end of BW... wat were the songs in the vid? i know theres 2 secondhand serenade songs - reach for the sky and something more
Nicely done, funny seeing all the names from the earlier ones pass by, it seems like forever ago. July as watermelon, spacesuits, Grr and Elky looking good, the memories ^^
SC2 is fun but NOWHERE near the level of intensity, passion, and "HOLY MOTHER WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED" kind of feeling that you could get through scenes in BW. I remember watching TLO's EMP on the Orbital Command and thought, hmm, cute. Same went for all the other great SC2 plays. But when I see an unbelievable move in SC1 I just go apeshit. Boxer comes to mind =D
Great Stuff. I like to remember the times when boxer, cheater terran and my alltime favourite Nada have had great battles during the season. I was again amazed by the space suits progamer were wearing during the first days of OSL Starleague

If you liked that montage I'd also recommend the one from after the Shinhan2 finals when NaDa gets his golden mouse. It also includes Freemuras PKO win which was not in this one because it was not yet the "official" starleague, kinda like GoRushs WCGC win in 2000. They dont show Oov winning the EVER2004(allthough his name is there), probably because it was an ackward winning ceremony with him defeating Boxer. He is shown later winning the Shinhanbank2005 OSL. It also shows various moments from the Shinhan2 OSL including group ceremony, the other players being defeated in their matches. Also shows Anytime celebrating and afterwards trying to comfort Midas after beating him in the semifinals. The montage starts at 1:39, but WMG has removed the sound, but if you want to hear the song I've linked it under so you can listen to it as you watch the video. Too bad you cant hear the other sounds such as fans chanting "Oh Young Jong! Oh Young Jong! Oh Young Jong!" after his win which imo is the most awesome part.
Lame that someone got the audio disabled on the NaDa golden mouse tribute video.
IMO sAviOr shouldn't have been cut out of the OSL tribute video. The player who won that OSL and put in so much effort and brilliant play is not the same as the man that did the other things.

Its amazing how a video game can affect so many people and have such a rich history..
broodwar forever..
It's a shame that starcraft 2 doesn't have and will never reach the level of complexity and indepth gameplay as BW has to make it popular in the korean esport scene.
Blizzard will most likely force the ending of the most succesfull esport game in history to replace it with a product that is a shadow of its original..

Sad days really
Let's speak well of BW and remember all the good times while wishing for more in the future. Denigrating its child only demeans the moment!

you cant say that right now... sc2 has the potential to be much greater than sc1, thats all we know until now.
im so sad i started watching sc in 2007, i missed so much. must have been a great time during a time where everyone was full of passion and the biggest croud was 120 000 people.

What can't be true, a 10 year anniversary? this wasn't meant as an end or anything, just a recap tribute.
Makes it seem as if the bw scene is dieing.
Well, it's definitely their 10-year anniversary and the video is a great celebration on that note. Maybe it's a farewell video, but no one official has said anything like that yet so we'll wait and see. Don't worry, be happy.
Please don't end OSL and Proleague! This is practically a message to Blizzard and Gretech etc saying don't let the fans down. We love e-sports and Broodwar.
I am ashamed I only founded the SC scene in 2010 I missed on the greatest times the series will most likely ever have I shall follow SC until I die from now on (Y)
This was AWESOME. Sadly they didn't show any images of match fixers, but I guess it's no less than they deserve. And I sincerely hope for a Korean Air OSL 3 in the very near future, they do a hell of a job.
I'm surprised I also missed this much (Brought into the scene in 2008). It brings a tear to my own eye, reading what I never saw since 1998, but I can only hope for the best.
I can only hope SC2 will bring out a culture this immense, this spectacular. The Brood War fans seem to have such a deep understanding of the players, the game, and of just the spirit of StarCraft.
Long live Brood War, let us all toast our glasses! Rejoice, for SC2 will bring upon greater times! Perhaps even the MSL, OSL, and Starleague will move into SC2. I can't imagine how well that would bring SC players together. Even now, with just TLO and Nazgul, we're all sticking together. It's...I can't describe it with words.

so sad.
i watched this over and over again.
the montage was already posted in blogs but it deserves to get more attention.
The first thing I noticed as well.
Also:
Reach is hot. July with red hair is awesome. Elky! I wish I followed broodwar when there were space uniforms. I feel like they should bring those back.
While watching this, I felt like i missed out on a large chunk of history as i only recognized from the 2007 Ever OSL. Also, I felt a strange feeling that this may be one of the last OSLs that will be hosted. I really hope this feeling is false. >.<
i watched this video, having recently seen every osl finals, and it was so awe inspiring to see all of those legends in one tournament. NaDa, Boxer, iloveoov, Reach, July, down the list... The background music was good too
I can't believe it... this video was so amazing. I'm sure if Blizzard were to watch this... they would realize that they weren't killing simply a game... somehow BW transcended such trivial boundaries into a culture, a life, a phenomenal feeling beyond words.

Reach, the Hero of Protoss, is easily one of the most important Protoss players to ever play the game. Top 3 would be like, Reach, Nal Ra, and Bisu (in to particular order since I don't want to go down that road). Mantoss forever!

just because he "fucked up the history of bw" doesn't mean his accomplishments are null and void. he dominated BW for quite some time (though, only 1 OSL made me lol a bit). and if you're going to insult him, atleast spell his nick name correctly

Well, second biggest joke (poor yellow).
No you're right. Yellow is the second biggest joke
This video really made me feel like SC should be a sport as popular and loved as football (american), soccer, baseball, etc., with players making millions of dollars a year.
While that could never happen (Necropotence) this video really emphasizes why I fell in love with starcraft in the first place. It wasn't just the game, it was the community that had developed around it.

I'm weeping. Like a little girl... This type of videos should not be done. I'm torn. I won't sleep tonight and this reminded me how much we as fans have gone thru.
Looking at that video brought back feelings from those moments and how anxious we can get. I always new I was a huge eSport fan, specially with BroodWar but god damn I never thought I was going to get this emotional over this stuff.
I love SC2 I think it's a great game but this last (lets called it latest, it sounds better) this latest OSL is making me hate the game just because it might be taking my precious BroodWar away.
If they are going to retire the OSL, this is the right time to do it. Let the MSL and OSL go to rest and have one final epic Pro League and then call it on Brood War. But if rumors are to be believed this might be the end of it all, and I think I will regret for the rest of my life not taking time off and going to one of this finals.
Here's to 10 AWSOME years and to TL.net for making them even more amazing Let's hope we can see SC2 be a true successor to something that can not even be called a game anymore.
You can still see savior and gogo and other of the implicated people on the side, just cuz they didn't specifically focus on their faces doesn't mean they're completely outta htere ;o
oh how sick it makes me when people still consider MJY a name worth mentioning. it's not sad that he's done a fraction of justice in this montage. how can you be so loyal to something so undeserving? ffs.
This really looks like captions at the end of the film... You know, like when you are in a cinema and the ending of the movie comes and they turn on the lights... and it's like GG, no more movie tonigh, go home, but you'd love to stay and wish that the movie would go on...
Awesome video. The only thing that ruins it is that god awful music. They really should have picked something more classic and less annoying. Id have to be 15 and never had heard any of the history of mankinds accomplishments in the art of sound and music to even begin to like that song. Other than that, great vid.

It was a great video. Was nice to see Grrr... smile, Boxer hold the trophy's high.
Really you think because Savior made one mistake he shouldn't be stroked off the list? Here is a prime example why you shouldn't do illegal betting in the sport you are participating in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Rose#Permanent_ineligibility. Pete Rose isn't going to prison but he is banned from ever being put into the baseball hall of fame.

Nice video, to me it pointed out how often P has been under-represented since I didn't follow the SC scene during the majority of the time period this shows.

Enough said!
Too bad he had to play zergs :D I love those old names like sync i used his firebat sunken break all the time. The old names bring back good memories, although it's missing more screamo music from when i watched savior rise back in 06

Really good video, I was trying to think of the winner and runner up of each OSL before it came up
Got quite a lot, but more the older ones knowing when July and Oov would come up etc, actually did worse with the more recent ones, as I've not been following so much
God this was a great video. I was watching it this morning before school... and I JUST DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE. It was so emotional. Man, I love BW.
Anybody have a song list for the video? Or know just some of the songs? I think we all know the last song is Something More by secondhand serenade. =/ Aside from that... anyone?
all the songs are from secondhand serenade's album "hear me now", 1st is reach for the sky, then distance, then you and I/world turns/something more in some order i think.
Stork was in almost every single OSL ever. Only like the first 5 or so were without him. I am just sad that in recent times the OSL kind of lacked really good matches.

He is currently on a 10 OSL round of 16 streak I think.
Bisu is on a 12 MSL round of 32 streak, I believe...Bisu may be able to break Savior's record.
I'm not the most dedicated follower of SC:BW (started observing games in mid 2008) so many of those moments weren't familiar (well except from reading the history I guess), but they were still so touching and emotional.. I love these shots of losers griefing and winners celebrating, friends telling jokes to each other in the crowd or when they showed a bit of how the intros to the OSL were produced where players had to do awkward stuff in front of green screen hah
It's just so..Strong..You know.. For most of the world this sort of montage would look silly as "it's just a game". But as cheesy as it sounds, it's more than that.
After checking liquipedia, I didn't realize Boxer was so heart breakingly close to a golden mouse. Two golds and FOUR silvers. Nobody else has four silvers in either MSL or OSL. Yellow has five combined silvers (though no golds).
Also, Flash can only win one more MSL before he slumps or he'll break history (first to have four golds in a single league). JD is up there too, of course.
As a P fan I noticed that they were really underrepresented in the early years. Also, holy balls Stork has been around foreeeever. All the way back to 2004 and he can still get to the later rounds of individual leagues today. Further proof of his baller status.
