In a sign that negotiations are imminent, Gretech and KeSPA have signed an NDA (Non-disclosure agreement) which would guarantee the secrecy of said negotiations.

As the sole holder of the rights to broadcast Blizzard games in South Korea, Gretech gave KeSPA a grace period until the end of August to finish the past season of Proleague. Now that the season is over, it looks like KeSPA are willing to negotiate with Gretech over sub-licencing the right to broadcast Brood War games for the following season.

Hopefully they pick up sc2 games as well (Kespa that is). but that might be a bit too much wishful thinking.

On a more serious note, KeSPA really did not have a choice in the matter. It was either broadcast under different rules, or not broadcast. Glad BW will live longer.

I hope we get another season .I dunno why but I feel like Gretech will allow it only if KeSPA takes up sc2 as well.

Not wishful in my book. Let GOM keep their SC2. As long as Blizzard doesn't fuck up BW its all the wishes I need.

Gomtv can keep SC2 and let MBC and OGN continue with BW.

Good news I guess, but kespa could either broadcast under different rules, or not broadcast. So the choice was obvious.

Probably the most realistic scenario. What remains to be seen is who will pick up pro SC2 (to play that is).

I don't think there is a chance gomtv will let them just continue broadcasting BW without sneaking in some GSL games on MBC and OGN. They have mentioned they want a cable channel doing some GSL games anyways.

GOM have a broad range of cable channels available, they are owned by CJ after all which has like 60% ownage of the cable channels.

Yeeaahh BW will live forever (until SC2 has its LAN hehe).
Really great move by both parties, hopefully e-sport will develop more and more due to this.

I think Blizzard / Gom needs KeSPA for Starcraft 2 and KeSPA needs Gom for broadcasting rights so this is a good move on both sides on the fence.

Because when you left, Brood War was all spotlights and titans. Now, with the death of the big leagues, Brood War has moved to the basements and carparks. Now, Brood War is unlicensed brawls, lost teeth, and bloody fights for fistfulls of money - SirJolt

Yep, i think it's kind of sad if kespa would have to pay royalities to blizzard, but if at the end of the day BW continues, then all is well.

Loyalties are ok, just don't let Blizz to control the whole proscene.

Sounds like a good time to introduce you to my friend: Mr. Photoshop!

I think it'd be end up well if OGN/MBC continued with BW, while GOM focused on sc2. I don't mind having 5000 vods to watch a day with three individual leagues + PL, but it'd probably be easier that way.
