Maybe I should fly to korea open a bank account and hire a bodyguard while doing so. Funny enough, like the only sponsor that is relevant to us in North America is Samsung. I don't think I own a single item that's made by Samsung. >.< My refrigerator and a number of cellphones I have are made by Samsung.
Also, Pringles sponsored an MSL(2?), and Coca Cola an OSL.

+1 for Blizzard. I'm looking through the OSL/MSL list and don't see any other game companies. I mean, why would any game company besides Blizzard be supporting SC? Blizzard is also obviously close to eSport fans.
The only part that Blizz doesn't completely match is "The next MSL sponsor will be sponsoring for the first time in the history of eSports", because of GomTV, but whoever made this statement may just not have counted that.

That is good news Korean Air for OSL this season now this for MSL
|
well, it's certainly good to know that they've found a sponsor already, seeing as how much trouble they had this season and with the betting scandal.

Thats awesome! I cant wait the final this week end, of it will be a great show. They already found the sponsor for the next season thats awesome!!!

"KEPCO MSL" (Korea Electric Power Corporation) will be announced during the mandatory power outage.

Savior MSL, putting that ill gotten money to good use.

British Petroleum MSL
A BP spokesman admitted "not actually" being familiar with the game, but the company wants its brand associated with the e-sport these days because "we heard these players are really good at keeping minerals down".
+ Show Spoiler +Yes, oil itself is not a mineral, but I couldn't resist the temptation to make the worst joke ever.

Sweet, Great News Indeed

Blizzard sponsoring Starleague would not be a first in eSports FYI as they sponsored the GomTV Classic. LG makes phones and electronics which also would not really be a first since KTF is a mobile phone company and Samsung makes electronics. Pocari Sweat is already a minor sponsor of some of the teams right?
It is probably a slight mistranslation saying the sponsor is different from anything in e-Sports. We should go off the title that the company is different from anyone who has sponsored Starleague specifically, which opens a lot of possibilities.
Otherwise the only industries that are untouched I can think of would be a power or oil company, or a restaurant chain. Have any consumer goods manufacturers sponsored eSports before like Unilever or P&G? Maybe a car manufacturer. It could be Microsoft (games for windows) although that is still a software development company like Blizzard. I think clothing companies are untouched as well. The Airforce is a possibility but on that talk show which was recently translated the commentators seemed to be of the opinion the Airforce would want to distance itself a bit from eSports given the recent scandal. I think Razer could go in the category of Samsung which makes both mice and keyboards.
lol @ okum I laughed

They're much bigger companies than the MSL has had in the past, but Intel did something with GOM before if I remember correctly. I know AMD sponsored a team in the early 2000s but I don't think they sponsored a league.
or maybe ASUS since they are koreans

Great news, good that the scandal didn't get the best of the e-sport scene! SC:BW For Life!

They're gonna be like "just kidding guys, we couldn't pull through" and have GOMTV MSL Season 5.
Or some random MMO.

The clues: 1. First time sponsoring a league 2. An industry completely different from previous sponsors. So MMORPG is out of the window lolz 3. An industry very close to e-sport fans
LOL "Illegal Betting Sites MSL".
This satisfies all of your clues and suits the current situation.
