It looks like he MIGHT not go into the army, but he will probably quit progaming as we speak.

Wow he might going to study at wonkwang (weird name -_-) but he has to go into the military when they turn 24yrs (korean i thnk yeah).

I think its a really good move on Boxer's part, to stick around for another 3 years.
He's still the most popular pro gamer, even if he is no longer as good. If he were to just evaporate from the pro scene, it would be a big blow. As long as he's still involved, it attracts more people.

I highly doubt that boxer will flunk in anything. Even if he was a complete moron, with the amount of money he's making, he can afford some really really good tutors. Hell, pay off the teacher =).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Boxer practice around 12 hours a day (and play for fun another 4 or so) when he first made his climb to the top? It seems to me that he probably doesn't practice that much any more, what with his duties to team, his cafe, and publicity in general.
So it seems that while he is able to maintain his level without the intensive practices, he doesn't improve.
And he's still top 5 Terran in the world.
I think that shows just how far ahead of the pack he was.

There's no way in hell he played sixteen hours of brood war a day. That would mean he only played BW and slept, nothing more. Eight hours I could believe. Tweleve that's stretching it, but still doable.... but sixteen? Trust me, not even boxer is that one dimensional.
