In the beginning. terran was always considered the weakest race—humans stepped hesitantly into the cold and unfriendly battlefield, unready yet wary of the dangerous foes which awaited them. Naturaly disadvantaged, humans exhibited none of the natural physical strength or ability or their Protoss and Zerg foes. But one man, undaunted, ventured into the unknown, and found success where others had failed. The Terran had found their leader—their emperor, and his people were won over by his innovation and charisma. The sons of the human kingdom eagerly learned under him, and the strength of the Empire grew.
With his eventual fall of their leader, the Terran would find new leaders to rally behind and prosper. They learned to macro. They learned to dominate. After many years of progress, the enemies of the Empire witnessed spectacular change. Mechanically sound, these modern day terrans were nothing like their pioneer ancestors; they did not fear, and grew confident underneath strong leadership.
However, the Empire plunged into chaos—with the lack of a figurehead, Aiur’s forces and the Overmind ran rampant through the humans. The Age of the one perfect terran—that perfect war machine, seemed past its time. Many modern day terrans exhibited aspects of their founders, but were ultimately not well-rounded enough. They displayed their own flair, whether it be immaculate control or clockwork unit production, and all proudly carried the Empire’s banner; but sadly, each fell short of perfection.
On their home planets, the Protoss and Zerg enjoyed the brief lull in human activity. But the silence told nothing. Rumors ran rampant within each race, and paranoia as well. They wondered if a revolution was at foot, and it was spreading that the Empire was rallying back. Their suspicions were confirmed; the coming autumn marked the return of the Terran people.
The Resurrected Lieutenant
Sea[Shield]
Guess who’s back?
No newcomer for sure, Yum Bo Sung first broke through many years ago. Widely respected for his success at the Zerg front, he eventually fell back into obscurity because he faltered most without his faithful comrades and when he was on his own. His troop, though, found new energy in his resurgence; his astounding victories in dealing with enemy human Dominions and even the Tyrant himself brought new hope to the Empire.
The Juggernaut Commodore
Really
Orly? Yarly, motherfucker.
Gaining momentum, the Juggernaut Terran has been rampaging through the Protoss forces, leaving little in his wake. Impressively, he has been victorious in his last ten battles versus Aiur. His cold, calculating decision making backed by steady reinforcement has left the Empire raising eyebrows. Performing exceptionally for his homelands of eStro, Park Sang Woo earned the respect of the Empire, and eagerly awaits to draw Protoss blood.
The Strategist
Leta
Cute.
Shin Sang Moon’s domination within 2009 astounded his people and bewildered his foes. Clean usage of the Terran arsenal, sometimes unorthodox, continually left his enemies bewildered and humiliated on the battlefield. Charismatic, Leta has become the very face of the Sparkyz, and when the frost set in and conditions become inhospitable, Shin Sang Moon has reinvigorated his play and is quickly approaching his old level of domination.
With much more talent making its way up through Terran ranks, except those which came from the radioactive desert outpost of Woongjin, the revolution was here. A leader had risen forth: their perfect terran, their war machine, their ultimate weapon.
Their Commander
Flash
This caption played Flash, and was utterly destroyed.
His rebirth in the autumn of 2009 marked the return of the Empire. Though never one to falter tremendously, he had his uncertain periods and people questioned his ability to win more titles. It was this autumn where he took those doubts, smashed them into pieces, and scattered them through the universe. With the ushering in of this new leader, the Empire would rise to the top. His fluid defenses could only be described as perfection, his unstoppable offense unchallengable. In the winter of 2009 and 2010, Aiur and the Overmind knew. Their times were over; the Age of Terran had just begun. All trembled. All feared. All respected:
Much inspired from a whole week at 999posts and just waiting for the right idea, I really wanted to write something special—not just one of those other terrible threads that I have created. I have never been really one to contribute much to the forum, but I inexplicably spend much of my time on it. This article is just my way of doing justice to some of my favorite terrans on the scene right now and giving back to the teamliquid community; please feel free to disagree with the content itself. I hope everybody enjoys my 1000th post.

Care giving any arguments to why Fantasy doesn't belong there?
If you don't like fantasy and so you don't want to put it there, fine, but saying he doesn't belong is just nonsense. He was considered 2nd best Terran for quite a while (some even considered him to be 1rst when Flash was slumping). He brought change to PvZ and his PvT was always awesome to watch due to his vulture and dropship play.
Grrr.... This is exactly why I was pretty much the only zerg player who welcomed the Protoss Golden with open arms. SC has been dominated by terrans since the beginning. Three (And now potentially four) of the four bonjwas (Now potentially five) were terran. You've had sooo much, yet you're not satisfied and you want more and more and more! Truly a terran mentality. Damn stinkin' humans.

Nice write-up. Of course it came from a Terran fan-boy ^ ^ I don't think the Terran race really had a devastating period of activity or success, in the early years of Boxer, Oov, Nada, Terrans were always present in the higher/more final stages of tournaments and oh, how many times were there TvZ finals.. I think a more remarkable aspect of it was the adaptation the Protoss showed and forcing their way into the territory known as Starleague Finals by way of Reach, Nal_rA, Kingdom, Anytime, Much, Free, then the Dragons that came along, obviously ^ ^
This tremendous support-post designed to cherish Flash, all coming after a TvT loss last night in the Proleague. Here's lookin' forward to his Finals against Movie
Really recognized Fantasy as the 2nd best Terran during his winner's interview. That means in the Korean community, Fantasy is STILL considered as the 2nd best Terran. Surely this is absolute injustice!

lol i know. i just...dont...like...fantasy and i like leta a whole lot more. besides, he recently came out of the SKT shithole after a month of slumping.

Fantasy is of course missing, sure hes had some bad weeks but someone of his caliber is bound to come back eventually But oh well, if you hate the guy, that's fine ^^

Learn the meaning of revolutionized.
This implies that it was used (to great effect) for a long period of time when in fact it was a gimmicky build with a GIGANTIC timing window that he had to use because his MnM micro is so awful it's often physically painful to watch.
All a zerg had to do to beat that build was like... earlier hydralisks >.>. It didn't change the entire dynamic of TvZ
You included Leta but not Fantasy? If you're going to write about the Terran race and its players, include all the good players, not just the ones you like.

People did not stop using Mech because it was weak. People stopped using it because the new maps disfavor Mech. The reason is obvious. No audience want to watch Mechfest for all three matchups. M&M is too sexy to be obsolete.

boxer and oov were both mentioned in roundabout ways fantasy was dodged because the writer hates him for inexplicable reasons

i will write about whatever the fuck i please.
and i subtly mentioned boxer, oov, and nada (though nada's reference is pretty subtle).

The writer has said he doesn't like Fantasy and hence didn't add him. I for one agree with that, and if you don't then right your own or don't bitch.
This thread is obviously opening discussion on current best terrans and how they stomp everyone, and lots of people believe Fantasy should be on that list (and apparently sea and really don't in place of him :/), hardly bitching, just wondering why he's not there when he's clearly good.
terran have always been considered the weakest race... which is why terran users consistently kept winning osl titles.. lol. and uhh.. where is fantasy? lol

In the beginning, Terran was the weakest, yeah. Before BW expansion (medic) and patch 1.08, Terran was pretty much on the losing end.
Then came a guy whose ID is Boxer and changed everything.
As for Fantasy, the author already explained he is a very biased person and hates Fantasy's guts.

That build was way overhyped. Seriously, it only worked when opponents weren't expecting it/hadn't prepared for it. Watch game 5 of the Batoo OSL finals. Even fantasy moved on to other mech builds after that series. I can't believe Day[9] fell for the hype on that.

It's not just the build though. After the Fantasy build, all the Terrans go mech, albeit not necessarily following the Fantasy Build. And yeah, even Fantasy stopped using Valkyrie soon afterwards, but it didn't change the fact that he popularized Mech v.s. Zerg for two seasons.

Then dont get pissed when people inevitably flame you. People, perhaps mistakenly, expect at least a little objectivity in these kinds of posts, so while it is your prerogative to write about the best terrans and blatantly leave out one due to nothing more than personal reasons you should be prepared for or at least expect this type of reaction.
The hell does fantasy belong here..his wins havent been that impressive, and just last month he was getting wrecked by freakin killer. Come on seriously fantasy fans..Sea and Really have been stomping people since PL began, fantasy just won a few games. Id put frozean on before fantasy at this point.

This.
Flash is obvious. Sea is obvious. Really has been vouched for by Artosis and others who are actually involved in the Korean scene. Leta? Come on. This guy has only ever played one televised Bo5, which he lost to a supposedly worse player at the time. I thought people valued set performance, and not just flashy Bo1 games?

While I don't think Leta should be on the list, your argument is ridiculously terrible.
You mention "set performance" and then defend Sea (who has never even made an RO8, and thus has never even played in a meaningful BO5) and Really (who has NEVER EVEN MADE A LEAGUE)??
On January 11 2010 09:48 FakeSteve[TPR] wrote: The Tragic Hero, The Best Terran Nobody Cares About, The Bad Player, and God
Fakesteve, I want you to write an awesome rant about each one of those, except Sea because we've got plenty of those already because Sea is awesome etc etc.

1) Er...the fact that Sea has played more televised sets means that, regardless of whether he won them or lost them, he's more likely to have the know-how to handle one. Leta's played one ever, and he demonstrated his completely ignorance of the dynamics of it during that Bo5.
2) As I said, the saving grace for Really is that he's vouched for by those who are far more in touch with the Korean scene than I am, while I have heard no such appraisal of Leta.

Taking the bo5 to a fifth game against a strong BoX player and the eventual MSL champion is a bad performance?
Besides which, he took a bo3 off of Flash in that tournament, with his cheese in the third set catching Flash totally off-guard. If that doesn't show and understanding of how to play a BoX, I give up.
