▲ I didn’t put too much weight on today’s match during practice. For the most part, I was helping my team with our Proleague matches and came here with only a little practice. I played with a mindset to get at least 1 win, but I’m not that happy even after winning.
- You advanced to round of 8 last season, but you dropped out this season
▲ This season, my matches against
Movie and 
Jaedong both ended in less than 7 minutes. I prepared a lot for the late game because my opponents were good, but I was disappointed and upset because I lost helplessly in the beginning.
- What did you think aboutPusan’s corsair strategy?
▲ When I saw the corsairs, I remember him saying “let’s play a fun match” so I thought he was going to lose intentionally. I wanted to get a win, but I don’t think Pusan felt that way. I knew I won when I saw the corsairs.
- You’re exempted from the first set of next season’s OSL round of 36
▲ I will have to strengthen my TvP next season. I learned a lot from practicing for my match against Movie, so if I continue to progress this way, I’ll be able to become better.
- Anything else you want to say?
▲ My fans always cheered me on and I thank them for it. When I was coming here withYarnc and type-b, Yarnc farted in the car, so we were frightened by the smell. It was as if he had taken a crap in the car. Next time, I hope he learns how to control himself in an enclosed area. I have a weak spleen so it was dangerous (laughs).

- How do you feel about getting 1 win?
▲ I dropped out of the league because I didn’t do well, so I can’t help it, but I tried my hardest in this game thinking about the next season. I’m relieved that I won and I’m satisfied.
- They say you’ve been underperforming lately
▲ I don’t feel that way but it bothers me to hear that from people around me.
- Until the mid-game, you were being dragged byfantasy
▲ I lost the big fight, so I was dragged. Although I won today, I didn’t really like my game play. I couldn’t play out well and control like I wanted to.
- Your unit control is usually very good
▲ When I was sent out in Proleague, it used to put a lot of pressure on me as the team’s ace, but lately, my individual leagues have been putting more pressure on me. As a result, there is a lot of difference in my games, but I still have no idea why my control got worse.
- You dropped out of MSL as well yesterday

- How does it feel to get back to Ro8 after 3 seasons?
▲First of all, I’m glad that I made it after such a long time. A lot of my fans were sad that I couldn’t perform well in individual leagues, but I think they will satisfied now.
- Were you confused bytype-b’s strategy?
▲ It didn’t confused me becauseLuxury has similar style as Type-b. Before coming here today, I played a couple of matches with him, and everyone called it the “Crazy Zerg”. It’s all thanks to Luxury (laughs).
- You’re on a 12-game winning streak against Zergs
▲ I’m really happy about that, but I’m playing againstZerO in MSL Ro16. I always thought of him as a strong player, so even at the cost of my winning streak, I will try my best to advance.
- You might faceJaedong in Ro8
▲ I think it will be a really fun match. No matter where I play him, it’s always fun. If I really do have to play him in Ro8, I feel that it’s a little too early in the league to play him because we haven’t played in an individual league for a long time. But I still think it will be fun.
- Who do you think will be a good opponent for you in Ro8?
▲ I’m the only Terran player, so it’s either a Zerg or a Protoss, but I will try my best against whomever I face in Ro8.
- In your upcoming Proleague match, you’re playingHyuN
▲ I honestly wanted to play TvP in Match Point, so I asked my coach. He was thinking about putting me for the map anyways. However, I was surprised and disappointed at the same time at Hyun’s entry. I really want to play against a Protoss, but I think it’ll be hard to face one (laughs).
- You won the best Terran player award
▲ It was a big glory for me. However, upon receiving the award, I became greedy and I was jealous at Jaedong for winning the best player award. I want to receive that award next time.
- Anything else
▲ First, I want to thankStork. We promised each other than whoever wins our match has to finish 3-0 for the group, and he did it. In addition, before the match, I was talking to Type-B, and he told me to win the league if I advance by beating him today. - Your thoughts on finally advancing to Ro8 after rematches
▲ There were so many games this week so I really hoped Hwasin would win. But, because there were rematches, I was sad but I feel relieved to advance after winning.
- Pure broke your ZvP winning streak
▲ Rather than thinking that I should revenge him, I thought that I lost because I was tired from playing so much. I lost my last game because I didn’t play well, so I feel that I can always continue my ZvP streak next time. Although it’s a little regretful, I was kinda indifferent on it (laughs).
-What did you think while watching the rematch game 1?
▲ Because Eye Of The Storm is good for Protoss, I hoped thatPure would lose, but he played really well so it worried me. I was worried that I would start with 1 loss.
- How did you plan out your match against Pure today?
▲ Last Wednesday, he build a robotics right before my overlord died, so I kept wondering if that was a fake, and I was dragged by it, but today, I saw it at the right time and won. I played based on my practice games.
-In Ro8 group drawing, who did you hope to be paired with?
▲Flash finished second in his group, and facing him in the MSL was hard enough, so I just hoped it wasn’t Flash. The other 3 players I thought were all fine.
- Flash said even at the cost of his winning streak, he will try his hardest to win
▲ I’m playing against a good player as well, so I’ll try my best to end his streak. I didn’t get to practice too much on the MSL maps, so I’ll have to prepare diligently.

- How does it feel to advance to Ro8 after rematch?
▲I’m happy that I could smile like this after the rematches.
- You probably didn’t hope for the rematch games
▲ While watchingHwasin’s game at the team residence, I cried after every one of Hwasin’s unit movement (laughs). As I was watching the game, Yarnc slowly took the pace so I hurried myself to the arena. I thought it would be hard, but I’m happy that I ultimately made it.
- Were you uneasy because you had to play against 2 Zerg players?
▲ I was a little bit, but after the maps were chosen, I felt better. In Heartbreak Ridge, I was confident and I did win, but I lost completely in game 2, so I just hopedZerO would win in game 3.
- In your past game, people thought it would be hard for you to beat Zero
▲ On Wednesday, Zero played really well. If it was practice, I could have won with an easier time, but I thought I would lose. Even though I broke his winning streak, I’m happy that we got to have a rematch.
- Did you watch Zero’s rematch earnestly?
▲ I really cheered for him more sincerely than my own matches, and even told Shine, who was next to me, to cheer (laughs). I think I got my wish because of cheering hard.
- Did you want to face anyone specific in Ro8?

- 16강에서 드디어 1승을 거두었는데
▲ 그냥 오늘 경기에 그렇게 큰 비중을 두고 연습하지는 않았다. 팀의 프로리그 연습을 주로 도와주다가 스타리그도 조금 연습한 채로 왔다. 꼭 1승이라도 하고 가자는 생각을 하긴 했지만, 이겨도 별로 기분이 좋은 것 같진 않다.
- 지난 시즌에는 8강 리거였는데 올 시즌엔 부진했다
▲ 이번 시즌에 진영화, 이제동 선수와 할 때 모두 7분도 안 되서 경기가 끝났다. 잘하는 선수들이랑 하게 되어서 멋있는 경기를 하려고 후반을 많이 준비했었는데, 초반에 무기력하게 져서 짜증도 많이 났던 것이 사실이다.
- 박지호의 패스트 커세어 전략을 보고 어떤 생각을 했나
▲ 커세어를 보는 순간 지호 형이 재미있는 경기를 하자고 했던게 생각나서 ‘져주려나 보다’ 라는 생각을 했다. 1승이라도 하자고 생각했는데 지호 형은 아닌가 싶었다. 커세어를 보는 순간 이겼다는 생각이 들었다.
- 다음 시즌 36강 1차전 면제권은 주어졌는데
▲ 다음 시즌에는 프로토스전을 더 보완해야겠다. 진영화전을 연습하면서 깨달은 것이 있어서 그대로 보완만하면 좀 더 나아질 수 있을거라고 생각한다.
- 더 하고 싶은 말이 있다면
▲ 팬분들에게 항상 응원해주셔서 감사하다고 말씀드리고 싶다. 그리고 아까 차를 타고 올 때 (박)명수 형, (문)성진이 형이 있었는데 명수 형이 방귀를 꼈다. 그래서 성진이 형과 냄새에 경악했다. 명수 형이 차 안에서 큰 일을 봤나 싶을 정도로 냄새가 고약했다. 다음부터는 밀폐된 공간에서는 좀 자제를 해줬으면 좋겠다. 평소에 비위가 약한 편이라 위험했다(웃음).
이제 곧 형들이 경기를 하는데 잘 해서 재경기까지 했으면 좋겠고, 내일 웅진전에서 팀원들 모두 열심히 해서 이기고 기뻐했으면 좋겠다.

▲ 이번 시즌엔 내가 못 해서 탈락 한거니까 어쩔 수 없고, 다음 시즌에 잘 하겠다는 생각을 하면서 오늘 경기에 최선을 다했다. 이겨서 다행이고 기분이 좋다.
- 최근 기세가 약해졌다는 평가가 있는데
▲ 평소에는 별로 그런 것에 신경 쓰지 않지만 주변에서 그런 소리가 자꾸 들리니까 신경 쓰이더라.
- 경기 중반까지는 다소 끌려 다니는 모습이었다
▲ 한방 싸움에서 지는 바람에 끌려 다녔다. 오늘 이기기는 했지만 경기력은 맘에 들지 않았다. 경기가 잘 풀리지 않았다. 컨트롤도 마음대로 잘 되지 않더라.
- 평소 컨트롤에서 좋은 평가를 받아 왔는데
▲ 예전에는 프로리그에 출전하면서 팀의 대표로 나간다는 생각에 크게 긴장이 됐었는데, 요즘엔 개인리그가 더 긴장된다. 그런 바람에 경기력에서도 차이가 나는 것 같긴 한데, 왜 컨트롤이 안 좋아졌는지는 나도 잘 모르겠다.
- 어제 MSL에서도 아쉽게 탈락했다
▲ 내가 못 해서 탈락한 것이기 때문에 다음 시즌을 기약할 수 밖에 없고, 이젠 프로리그에 전념하겠다. 프로리그에서 팀을 1등으로 이끌고, 개인리그에는 다음 시즌에 다시 도전하겠다.
- 잘했던 저그전이 조금 불안해진 느낌인데
▲ 항상 저그전에 자신은 있었다. 처음 데뷔했을 때는 컨트롤도 굉장히 잘했던 것 같은데, 요즘은 컨트롤이 예전만 못 하다. 예전으로 돌아가고 싶다(웃음). 요즘에 연습량도 많이 늘리고 했는데 컨트롤만큼은 예전처럼 돌아오지 않더라.
- 얼마 전 e스포츠 대상에서 신인상을 수상했는데
▲ 가족들과 친구들이 많이 축하해줬다. 팀원들도 축하한다고 하면서 덤으로 쏘라고 하더라(웃음). 꼭 한 턱 내야겠다.

▲ 일단 너무 오랜만에 올라와서 기쁘다. 개인리그에서 부진한 내 모습에 슬퍼했던 팬들이 많았는데 오늘은 만족하셨을 것 같다.
- 문성진의 전략에 당황하지는 않았나
▲ 당황하지 않았던 이유가 있었는데, 연습할 때 우리 팀 (박)찬수 형이 문성진 선수랑 스타일이 비슷했다. 경기장에 오기 전에도 몇 판 했는데 다들 ‘미친 저그’라고 이야기 했었다. 찬수 형 덕분이다(웃음).
- 저그전 12연승을 기록 중인데
▲ 정말 기쁘기는 한데, MSL 16강에서 김명운 선수를 만났더라. 평소 김명운 선수를 강한 선수라고 생각했기 때문에 혹시나 연승이 끊기는 경우가 있어도 이기고 8강에 올라가는 것을 우선으로 생각하겠다.
- 8강에서 이제동을 만나게 될 수도 있는데
▲ 정말 재미있는 경기가 될 것 같다. (이)제동이 형과는 어디서 만나더라도 항상 재미있다. 정말 8강에서 만나게 되면 개인리그에서 제동이 형을 만난 적이 오래 되는 것이기 때문에 조금 일찍 붙는 감도 있지만 재미있을 것이다.
- 8강 상대로 누가 좋을 것 같은지
▲ 8강에 오른 선수들 중에 테란이 나 하나이기 때문에 저그 아니면 프로토스 선수일텐데, 누구를 만나든 최선을 다하고 싶을 뿐이다.
- 조만간 있을 MBC게임과의 프로리그 경기에서 고석현 선수를 만났다
▲ 사실 매치포인트에서 프로토스전이 너무 하고 싶어서 감독님께 부탁을 드렸었다. 마침 감독님도 매치포인트에 내보낼 생각을 하고 계셨더라. 근데 저그인 고석현 선수가 출전한 것을 보고 깜짝 놀라기고 하고 아쉬웠다. 프로토스전이 너무 하고 싶어서 손이 근질근질한데 만나기가 어려운 것 같다(웃음).
- e스포츠 대상에서 최우수 테란상을 수상했는데
▲ 내게는 정말 큰 영광이었다. 그런데 최우수 테란상을 타고 나니까 욕심이 조금 생겨서 올해의 선수상을 탄 (이)제동이 형이 정말 부러웠다. 다음에는 나도 올해의 선수상을 꼭 타보고 싶다.
- 더 하고 싶은 말은
▲ 일단 (송)병구 형에게 고맙다는 말부터 해야 할 것 같다. 둘의 대결에서 이기는 선수가 3승을 해놓기로 약속했었는데 지켜줘서 고맙다. 그리고 경기 전에 문성진 선수와 잠시 이야기를 나눴는데 본인을 이기고 올라가게 되면 꼭 우승하라고 말해주셨다. 그 말씀이 고맙고 미안해서라도 이번 시즌에 꼭 우승할 수 있도록 하겠다.

ZerO “I can begin my ZvP winning streak again”
“Because my opponent is Protoss in Ro8, I feel very confident”
- Your thoughts on finally advancing to Ro8 after rematches
▲ There were so many games this week so I really hoped Hwasin would win. But, because there were rematches, I was sad but I feel relieved to advance after winning.
- Pure broke your ZvP winning streak
▲ Rather than thinking that I should revenge him, I thought that I lost because I was tired from playing so much. I lost my last game because I didn’t play well, so I feel that I can always continue my ZvP streak next time. Although it’s a little regretful, I was kinda indifferent on it (laughs).
-What did you think while watching the rematch game 1?
▲ Because Eye Of The Storm is good for Protoss, I hoped that
Pure would lose, but he played really well so it worried me. I was worried that I would start with 1 loss.- How did you plan out your match against Pure today?
▲ Last Wednesday, he build a robotics right before my overlord died, so I kept wondering if that was a fake, and I was dragged by it, but today, I saw it at the right time and won. I played based on my practice games.
-In Ro8 group drawing, who did you hope to be paired with?
▲
Flash finished second in his group, and facing him in the MSL was hard enough, so I just hoped it wasn’t Flash. The other 3 players I thought were all fine.- Flash said even at the cost of his winning streak, he will try his hardest to win
▲ I’m playing against a good player as well, so I’ll try my best to end his streak. I didn’t get to practice too much on the MSL maps, so I’ll have to prepare diligently.
- You won’t face
Jaedong or Flash until the finals▲ In order to win, I’ll have to beat them anyways, so I’m not worried about it. However, after being paired with Flash in the MSL, meeting them later in the tournament is definitely better (laughs). But since it happened to be this way, I’m thinking about winning it all.
- Your opponent is
Movie in Ro8▲ Because my opponent is a Protoss, I feel confident. However, if I feel too confident, I might mess it all up, so I won’t let my guard down.

▲ 이번 주에 너무 일정이 많아서 오늘 2경기를 보면서 제발 진영수 선수가 이기길 바랐다. 근데 안타깝게 재경기가 나와서 슬펐는데, 이기고 올라가서 다행이다.
- 이전에는 박세정에게 프로토스전 연승이 끊겼는데
▲ 복수해야겠다는 생각보다는 경기가 많다 보니 몸이 힘들어서 일이 힘들게 됐다는 생각 밖에 들지 않았다. 지난 번에 졌을 땐 내가 못 해서 졌기 때문에 다음에 연승은 다시 이어가면 된다고 생각한다. 연승 기록이 깨진 것이 아쉽긴 했지만, 그냥 시원 섭섭했다(웃음).
- 재경기 1경기를 보며 무슨 생각을 했나
▲ 태풍의 눈 맵에서 프로토스가 좋다고 생각해서 박세정 선수가 1경기에서 지시길 살짝 바랐는데, 너무 잘하셔서 걱정됐다. 1패를 안고 시작하게 될까봐 조마조마 했다.
- 오늘 박세정과의 경기는 어떻게 풀어나갔는지
▲ 지난 수요일에는 오버로드가 죽을 때 로보틱스를 건설하셔서 그게 속임수인지 아닌지 생각하다가 휘말렸는데, 오늘은 때마침 봐서 이길 수 있었다. 평소에 연습한 것을 바탕으로 경기했다.
- 추첨 전에는 8강에서 누구와 붙기를 원했었나
▲ 다른 조 2위 중에 이영호 선수가 있었는데, 이영호 선수는 MSL에서 만나는 것만으로 벅차기 때문에 이영호 선수만 아니길 바랐다. 나머지 세 선수 중에서 만나면 누구든 괜찮다고 생각했었다.
- 이영호도 연승 기록보단 이기는 것을 목표로 하겠다고 했는데
▲ 나도 강력한 선수를 만났기 때문에 어떻게든 상대의 연승을 끊도록 노력해야 할 것 같다. 아직 MSL 맵에서는 연습을 많이 안 해봐서 열심히 준비해야 할 것 같다.
- 결승전까지는 이제동, 이영호를 만나지 않는데
▲ 애초에 우승을 하려면 다 이겨야 할 선수이기 때문에 신경 쓰지는 않았다. 그런데 막상 MSL에서 이영호 선수를 만나고 보니까 역시 나중에 만나는게 좋긴 좋겠구나 싶었다(웃음). 그래도 이렇게 된 김에 다 이겨야겠다는 생각 중이다.

- How does it feel to advance to Ro8 after rematch?
▲I’m happy that I could smile like this after the rematches.
- You probably didn’t hope for the rematch games
▲ While watching
Hwasin’s game at the team residence, I cried after every one of Hwasin’s unit movement (laughs). As I was watching the game, Yarnc slowly took the pace so I hurried myself to the arena. I thought it would be hard, but I’m happy that I ultimately made it.- Were you uneasy because you had to play against 2 Zerg players?
▲ I was a little bit, but after the maps were chosen, I felt better. In Heartbreak Ridge, I was confident and I did win, but I lost completely in game 2, so I just hoped
ZerO would win in game 3.- In your past game, people thought it would be hard for you to beat Zero
▲ On Wednesday, Zero played really well. If it was practice, I could have won with an easier time, but I thought I would lose. Even though I broke his winning streak, I’m happy that we got to have a rematch.
- Did you watch Zero’s rematch earnestly?
▲ I really cheered for him more sincerely than my own matches, and even told Shine, who was next to me, to cheer (laughs). I think I got my wish because of cheering hard.
- Did you want to face anyone specific in Ro8?
▲ I just didn’t want to face
Jaedong in Ro8, but I would have been fine with everyone else.- Your opponent is
Calm▲ Calm is really good as well as a former victor. However, we haven’t had many televised matches together yet, so I think I have a chance If I practice hard enough. I’ll practice hard and show good games.

SKELTON, I’ve watched IntoTheRain’s games. If my fans say that, I’m actually honored and thankful. As long as it’s not bad, I’m thankful for anything the fans say to me. Because han bang rush is in a good context, I’m glad. I’ll show even better of those in my games to come.-Anything else?

▲ 수요일에는 김명운 선수가 정말 잘 했다. 연습이었으면 내가 무난하게 이길 경기였는데, 질 뻔 하다가 이겼다. 연승을 끊었다는 사실 보다는 재경기를 할 수도 있게 됐다는 점이 더 기뻤다.
- 김명운의 재경기를 간절한 마음으로 바라봤는지
▲ 정말 내 경기 보다 진짜 진심으로 응원했고, 옆에 있던 (이)영한이에게도 응원하라고 했다(웃음). 진심으로 간절하게 응원했더니 소원이 이뤄진 것 같다.
