▲ I’m happy that we beat a team with a winning record against us. They are a strong team but I’m happier that I beat Fantasy.
- You were put into danger when you lost your first dropship
▲ Although I lost my dropship, I tried not to think about it and played the game with that mind.
- How do you think you won the game?
▲ I think it was the management. Fantasy moved his units all at once, while I spread them all around the map. I was ahead in supply count during the battle, so I wasn’t worried.
- Your team is having a good start in R2
▲ It feels comfortable because we’re winning but I think we still have to remain tense. We’ll have to do better to be first.
- Because of the number of games you played, you couldn’t get to be in the rookie award
▲ I received it last year so I’m satisfied. I hope my one of my teammates Movie or Effort receives it this time.
- How did you come back from your bad performances?
▲ I didn’t do anything special. Because I didn’t get good results, it was hard and I became nervous, but after winning in practices, I’m starting to gain confidence again so I’ll do well from now.
-Anything else you want to say?
▲ I want to help my teammates for helping me practice and I’ll try my hardest, so I hope everyone cheers me on.

▲ I was having a losing streak against Zergs but this week, I won all my vZ matches. I’m playing a lot of Zergs in OSL as well, so I felt that I needed to fortify the matchup. I was testing myself this week, but since I beat two Zergs in a row, I’m satisfied.
- You have to play
Jaedong
▲ He has a Proleague game today so he practice practiced more for that, so I think it’ll be doable. I’m not pressured to win this game, but as revenge from last OSL, I definitely want to beat him.
- Your zealot harass was really good
▲ I was simply going to pressure my opponent and then expo in order to play a management style game, but after I scouted with my corsair, I thought I could do damage. Luckily, my opponent didn’t see my zealots rushing.
- What do you think is the reason for you doing so well in matches?
▲ I think I’m starting to understand this game more. During a match, I know how to make my opponents miserable.
- You’re a candidate for the rookie award
▲ I want to get it. My mom told me that I was a candidate. After my parents heard the news, they were prepared for anything (laughs). I am also prepared for anything as well (laughs). I’m just happy for whoever gets the award (laughs).
-Anything else you want to say?
▲ I thank people who helped me practice. Because it’s so cold now, a lot of people lost smile on their faces. I hope everyone smiles and laughs even if they have to force them out.

▲ Although I won, I’m not too happy because of the loss and because the last match was against a Zerg. I’m nevertheless happy that we beat SKT1.
- You lost unexpectedly in 3rd set
▲ I thought my opponent would try to proxy or 14CC, so I 9 pooled, but my opponent did it differently. He had blocked his entrance and played a drawn-out game, so the situation was really bad. Although I tried my hardest, I’m disappointed that I lost the game.
-How were your games today?
▲ I didn’t practice too much after deciding that I’m going to 9 pool. We were expecting Hyuk’s appearance for the ace match because I’m not doing too well against Zergs. But starting today, I’ll show how scary my vZ can be.
- You seem like you’re coming back in shape lately.
▲ I said it in the last interview, but my hands and my thoughts didn’t go together. However, because I increased my practice amounts, I can play the way I want to again and my micromanagement has gotten better, so I’m prepared to win any matchup.
- You’re a candidate for the rookie award
▲ I was chosen as a candidate, but they’ll choose whoever tried the hardest. Although I’ll be happy to receive it, if there’s anyone who tried harder than me, I think he will get it.
- Your thoughts on R2
▲ Since the beginning of R2, we’ve faced strong opponents so we tried our hardest all around. If we stay tense and practice this way, I think there will be good results

▲ 우리 팀이 상대 전적에서 밀리고 있는 SK텔레콤을 이겨서 기쁘다. SK텔레콤이 테란이 강한데 정명훈 선수를 상대로 승리해서 더 기쁘다.
- 초반에 드롭십을 잃으며 위기를 맞았다.
▲ 드롭십이 잡혔지만 불리하다는 생각 자체를 하지 않으려고 마인드컨트롤을 했다.
- 승리를 거둔 원동력은
▲ 경기 운영에서 갈렸던 것 같다. 정명훈 선수는 병력을 다 모아서 다닌 반면 나는 병력을 전 맵에 흩어놨다. 전투를 하는 중간에도 인구수는 많았기 때문에 불리하다는 생각은 하지 않았다.
- 2라운드 시작이 좋다.
▲ 시작이 좋아서 마음은 편한데 긴장은 항상 해야 할 것 같다. 아무래도 빨리 1위 탈환을 하기 위해서는 더 좋은 성적을 거둬야 할 것 같다.

- 최근 부진 탈출을 위해 어떤 노력을 했나
▲ 큰 노력을 한 것은 없다. 아무래도 성적이 나오지 않으니 힘들기도 하고 심리적으로 불안해진 것 같은데 연습에서 승리하면서 자신감을 찾고 있으니 앞으로는 더 좋은 성적 나올 것 같다.

- 팀 승리를 이끌었는데
▲ 저그전 연패 중이었는데 이번 주 저그전은 지금 다 이기고 있다. 스타리그에서도 저그전을 하는데 엔트리가 나오고 나서 저그전에 대한 보강에 필요성을 느꼈다. 이번 주는 나를 시험하는 느낌이었는데 프로리그에서 저그전 2연승을 해서 어느 정도 만족하고 있다.
- 이제 이제동과 경기를 해야 하는데
▲ 이제동 선수도 오늘 경기가 있어서 프로리그 연습 위주로 했을 것이니 해볼만 할 것 같다. 꼭 이겨야 한다는 부담감은 없지만 스타리그라는 것과 지난 스타리그의 복수를 위해서라도 반드시 이기고 싶다.
- 질럿 견제가 굉장히 좋았다.
▲ 질럿으로는 상대 압박만 주고 멀티를 하면서 장기적인 운영을 준비했는데 커세어 정찰을 해보니 피해를 줄 수 있을 것 같았다. 운이 많이 따라줘서 질럿이 발각 당하지 않고 멀티까지 간 것 같다.
- 최근 경기력이 좋아진 원인은 뭐라고 생각하나
▲ 내 나름대로 노련미가 쌓인 것 같다. 경기를 할 때 어떻게 하면 상대를 괴롭게 할 수 있는지 어느 정도 알게 된 것 같다.
- 신인상 후보인데

- 1승 1패를 거뒀는데
▲ 오늘 이기긴 이겼는데 마지막 경기가 저그전이었던 것도 있고 1패를 해서 그런지 크게 기쁘지가 않다. 그래도 강적 SK텔레콤을 이겨서 기분 좋다.
- 3세트에서 허무하게 패했는데
▲ 전진 배럭이나 노배럭 더블커맨드를 노리고 9드론 스포닝풀을 했는데 상대가 다르게 했다. 고인규 선수가 입구를 막고 부유하게 플레이를 해서 상황이 보기보다 더 안 좋았다. 최선을 다했는데 패해서 너무 아쉽다.
- 오늘 경기는 어땠는지
▲ 9드론 스포닝풀 빌드를 정하고 연습을 많이 하지 않았다. 에이스결정전도 박재혁 선수의 출전을 예상 못했는데 요새 저그전 성적이 좋지 않아서 노리고 나온 것 같다. 하지만 오늘 승리를 시작으로 내 저그전이 얼마나 무서운지 보여주겠다.
- 최근 기세가 다시 살아나는 느낌이다.
▲ 지난 인터뷰에서도 말했는데 내 생각과 달리 손이 잘 움직이지 않았다. 그런데 요즘은 연습량을 늘려서 그런지 내 뜻대로 플레이가 잘 되고 컨트롤도 뜻대로 돼서 어떤 종족전이라도 승리할 자신 있다.
