im not sure the other players would agree with that, and the coaches at least definitely should not

Consider this:
You have been practicing hard every week for your game.
Your team makes it to the finals.
They do not play you because there are 6 players that have also been trying just as hard, and you happened to get the short end of the stick.

I think it's bo5 until the final which is bo7, that sounds fine to me. Bo7 for the playoffs is also fine if we're doing winner's league format.
