Just out of curiosity, what is the longest professional StarCraft game ever?
The longest I've seen are around 70-85 minutes, like Reach vs Chojja, Boxer vs Iloveoov, Hwasin vs Light, and Stork vs GGPlay. The last one is probably the longest I've seen, at around 84 minutes. Anyone know of any game that's longer than that one?

Seriously?
PvP's usually end at around 10-15 minutes...
Got any link?

Edit: Yeah, I meant the Korean pro's, but you can link it anyway if you've got any link.
Edit 2: Thx. Guess that means I've got something to do tonight...

Haha, I remember that game :D It was Dunaj vs BlackMasteR. Lasted 198:05 minutes but I don't have working dl link for that :/

Draco vs ZZZero on BlueStorm in this year's WCG Poland was very long as well, all units, all spells were engaged, link to dl : Replay

Canata versus someone was an hour and a half TvT;

Charlemange played a PvP to stalemate, I don't know the exact length of either match.

Stork vs GGplay on Andromeda ;]. They end up being ~20 hydra + 4 scourges in the island expo, vs ~10 archons + 2 arbiters + 2 corsairs. So basically, GGplay waited to get recalled, while stork waited for the momentum to lure the scourges and successfully recall. The operators showed that one girl in there played tetris instead of watching the game lol.

While on the subject of oddball games, anyone have any links to pro-games that ended in a draw?

Like a PvT where both sides have no workers left, not enough minerals to create more, and the P just has zealots to kill T's lifted buildings or something.

Or a PvP where each side has one reaver left and their scarabs simultaneously kill eachothers reavers leaving no units left, stuff like that.

edit: I should clarify, where it's a forced draw, as in it's impossible for either player to win. Not a situation where both players agree to a draw game because neither wants to move out of position to attack.

(T)Flash vs (P)JangBi on Blue Storm was the same story:

+ Show Spoiler +

In the end, both players were mined out and had tons of units on two hills of Blue Storm. Neither felt ready to breakthrough as it could cost a game the one who tried it. They had to wait couple of minutes, and it was amusing, because Flash looked somewhere in the air and tapped the mousepad with his fingers. In the end, refrees came in and both players claimed they won't attack. Game was declared a tie and these two played a rematch, which JangBi won.

I heard there is a War3 ladder game that went for like 12 hours after someone played "Tower Defense" on the island expansions of Lost Temple. I am not sure if it actually happened or if it was staged.

Tester vs. zerglee on dream of balhae was extremely long, ~90 minutes if I remember properly. I believe reach vs. chojja on rush hour was right about the same length but it was a better game. Nal_ra vs. gorush on forte was also very lengthy but I think it ended up short of the first two.

I'm surprised there has never been a drawn game in pro leagues. The way ZvP is these days it seems like the map gets mined out fairly often and the two players could have very large static defenses of sunkens / cannons so that whoever attacks first with the last of their army loses so nobody ever attacks. For some reason it seems like whenever that happens zerg attacks first and always loses instead of playing for the draw.

nevermind, guess there have been draws before as described on page 2

some old school can correct me if I'm wrong,

I believe there was an NTT aka hasudrone 90 minute FANTASTIC game (well, what am I saying, almost all NTT games were fantastic)... not sure if it was vs the great Smuft or was it vs the great GARIMTO.

one of the best TvP games I have seen in my entire life to this day.

Nazgul also had one long an interesting game vs Hellghost that ends with + Show Spoiler +
a draw

that dunaj vs blackmaster game was fantastic too.

there was a game also in wcg2003 or 2004 ... believe it or not a SPECTACULAR TvT game this Malasyan guy who always won WCG Malasia,,, JohnRambo against some other guy I don't recall. trust me, this game keeps you off the edge of your seat, I think it was 80 or 90 minute too. definetly the best TvT I've seen along with Boxer vs dunno (the BC lockdown game) and NTT vs Joyo

If you're talking about the one on Gaia, then I remember that too.
It was 2v1 for most of the game, too. I don't know why I watched 200 minutes of that but I did.

Ending was just so good :D (Winner was so calm)

Didn't it come down to a lurker protecting the last mineral patches and a pylon or something like that?

...For an hour.

Yeh, thats why I said winner played pretty calm. Seriously trying to kill last pylon with drone (or hydra, my memory lacks a bit) while dodging lurker spines for an hour. Now thats hero player

It was in WCG 2003, and it was vs Cope[pG] (german terranplayer).

This happened. I think it was 17 hours though.

14 hours. Wawer + chocholudek were playing that (I think it was chocholudek since it was in the RoC days if I remember correctly). Their enemies made a bazillion of towers on the islands and left it at that (weren't at the comp). Chocholudek has left the game but Wawer refused to give enemies free win so he stayed in the game but played Q3 or something meanwhile, checking from time to time if they had enough. Finally, he left the game running and went to sleep, the next day he leveled up Chocholudek's Demon Hunter, bought a zeppelin and killed off towers 1 by 1. Took him an hour or two just to do that but finally he won it for them (in wc3, if your teammate leaves, you get control of his units and if you win, he gets a win too).
Crazy ass stuff.

The Rock vs Chalrenge was hilariously funny, I would be so annoyed if I was The Rock, eating storm drops all game and then not being able to break 1 base despite having access to all the resources left on the map.

A nice hour long game is the WCG 2010's preliminaries, FlaSh vs Jaedong.

http://kr.wcg.com/Championship/Broadcast/2010/Broadcast.asp

I bumped because of comments like "Just a bit off topic but what map was this played on?", the replay thing was not commented and one had to scroll for himself, and it was good to supply the link to what everyone was talking about.

Also because there are more long games and only a few are listed here, making this not comprehensive.

you forget Sea vs Hwasin
I think the game was on Blue Storm, its not listed on TLPD, basically they went back and forward for 30 minutes or so with their BC armies w/o engaging. If you find the vod dont watch it, life should not be wasted like that

Holy shit, that sounds absolutely insane. Are there any replays of the game avaible online?

I've played 1k+ Phantom games on battle.net and 2k+ on iccup and the longest games i've ever played was like 3~ hours(close to nonstop action too, one of my fav games i've ever played), i really can't imagine how someone can play longer than that in a MELEE GAME. o_o

I love stalemates, they are what makes games interesting and forces players to use cute tactics.

Why would you want to watch a 14 hour long replay of which 10 or more hours is players not actually doing anything? Their enemies left their comps and hoped for WaweR and Chocholudek to leave the game to get their win.

If I had to play a 200 minute long PvP and then lose i would kill myself.

That's some D----- skill level game though and the other player goes AFK for like 2 hours.

I'm sure I could stall a game vs my sister and make it last 4 hours and be like OMG 4 HOUR GAME!

Pure REALLY could have won game 1 when Leta's army was out in the middle if he had just killed the goliath. He also could have continuously tried to stasis both vessels/pick them off.

The reason most draws aren't resolved is that they happen between comparable players, each of whom will think he has say 60% chance of beating his opponent in a straight up game (being confident in his own skills and preparation). But the game actually gets reduced to a coin flip situation like two 200/200 BC/miscellaneous terran armies, and both players think this isn't worth it because it gives up that extra 10% or so. (The rest of draws just physically can't be resolved.)
