Why should other people pay for your trip, when you'll be the one to enjoy it and cash the money if you win something? 500 bucks sounds like a reasonable amount to pay for yourself so you can enjoy a nice vacation in Korea with a lot of your friends. It's not like you'd really be "representing the USA" with rekrul, inc and IdrA going. Poland had a representative, no? And not for nothing, but I doubt that Yayba and Draco only play SC ever. I don't know anyone at this point in time who doesn't even work part-time. If the community raised nearly $6,000 for them, why is it unreasonable to ask for $500 to benefit a working father who also has this opportunity to play on the international stage? I'm sure Yayba and Draco will also be enjoying the trip to Chengdu with friends of theirs in the BW scene, and they will be able to cash in if they win anything. In other words, I fail to see the difference here.

Well, I don't know the details of the situation, so I may be wrong, but I'll take a crack at this... WCG is recognized as an international tournament where you represent your country, so donating to send someone as your representative is different than sponsoring a random USA player to play in an individual tournament IEF. edit: To be clear, I'm not saying you're doing the wrong thing here, just guessing at why people see it differently. Not sure if TL should have an official policy about this donation stuff. Lets make one! Mani is taking 0,5% of every transfer now

![]() http://livestream.com/louder - go to on demand. Louder's officially my hero for doing this so quickly, so I will be donating the money to the community event instead since he's not allowed to accept donations apparently.

So Artosis said he needs to confirm the player list for IEF by today, and that Louder needed to buy his ticket, so we assumed we'd get up to the $500, and after talking to EG apparently they literally wouldn't let him go if he got any donations. On top of that they said if he accepted donations to go to IEF they wouldn't pay for his flight to China. All in all, I guess EG shafted him T__T;. I need to think about what to do now.

If we raised the money to send Louder, you could interpret it as EG being the villains that are not supporting their players thus forcing the community to do so for them. And do you seriously think that EG are blind enough not to notice what was going on in case we lied?

In fact, it's pretty rare for teams outside Korea to give money to SC players at all, in general. Rather than be thrilled that the community is willing to support players, the decision is based on the notion that this is equivalent to EG begging for money. I don't think that's accurate and I don't think most people would. But it's the team's decision and I'll respect it. To be clear I was given no ultimatum about China. I was simply given the impression that if I accepted these donations and used them for IEF there would be consequences.

And do you seriously think that EG are blind enough not to notice what was going on in case we lied? im just saying, if Louder said he came up with the money to go somehow, borrowed it from someone or anything, how would they know we gave it. Im not saying EG are the villains, quite frankly i dont see what they are playing at, they are already sending him to wcg, and im sure everyone understands that they cant cover every event out there, how is this putting them in a bad light? In my eyes not letting him go is worse publicity than not being able to send him themselves, these days its rare for a team to have any money to send players anywhere, I hope they understand how much sending someone to wcg finals means to the bw comunity, its no small thing. let the man go.
