Here's what I THINK I know, in chronological order:
- The Hanaro Communication Tooniverse Starleague (1999-2000) (the precursor to the OGN Starleague) was won by Grrr (runner-up HOT_Forever!!!) PvZ 3-2.
- The Freechal OGN Starleague (2000) was won by GARIMTO (v Skelton) PvZ 3-0.
- The 1st OGN King of Kings ("KoK") (2001) was won by Grrr (v TheBoy (Z)) (was down 0-2 ZvZ and TvZ, then stormed back to take the final 3 PvZ. Grrr's been mainly P ever since...)
- The Hanbitsoft OGN Starleague (2001) was won by Boxer (v Jinnam) 3-0 TvZ. Jinnam's had a major jinx v T and especially Boxer ever since.
- The Coca-Cola OGN Starleague (2001) was won by Boxer (v Yellow) TvZ 3-2. One of the most memorable finals ever in Starleague history. The two have been rivals ever since, with Boxer always just coming out ahead.
- The SKY 2001 OGN Starleague was won by GARIMTO (v Boxer) PvT 3-2. Perhaps the greatest finals in Starleague history (or really any SC/BW tournament anywhere). Boxer still has nightmares about this one. Went right down to the wire.
- The KT King of Kings (i.e. the 2nd KoK event) (2002) was won by Yellow (v V_Gundam) ZvT 3-0.
- The NATE OGN Starleague (2002) was won by Sync (again leaving HOT at the altar without a ring...) TvZ 3-1.
- The SKY 2002 OGN Starleague was won by [Oops]Reach (v Boxer) PvT 3-1. And Boxer's finals jinx v P continues...
- The current Panasonic OGN Starleague - well, who knows?
Hope this helps.

Is each OGN Starleague sponsored by a new, large corporation yearly?

Yes. Sometimes tho, like with SKY, the same company sponsors the event again the next year...

Was the KOK the last major tourney Grrrrr ever won?

I think so, yes. He did make it to the final of the first GhemTV Starleague after that, but got blitzed by Oddysay and lost - no contest at all.

I have followed the progaming scene since its beginning back in 1999. I remember the great games of Grrrr vs (red-haired) Hot_486 (not yet "forever" at the time;) ) in the "Hanaro Communication Tooniverse Starleague". But they definitely played a best of 7 on that day with Grrrr... winning it 4-3! I think tonight I will search my old CD-Rs in order to find the VOD, because I am quite sure I burned it (I hope so!!). Drazzzt

What are the Hanbitsoft and Nate OGNs? I always thought there's 1 OGN season per a year, so like, 2000 was Boxer vs Yellow, 2001 was Garimto vs Boxer, 2002 was [Oops]Reach vs Boxer and 2003 was Nada vs Chojja.. But considering there's another finals these days, I take it there are two OGNs season each year? :o

Not even sure if you're gonna read this but just for the record, there are mostly like 3 OGN seasons each year. A year almost comprises of 3 3-month-long seasons and 1 'the king of kings' competition which is only for qualifiers who at least got 3rd in each OGN season that year. (for your information, i remember Grrr... won the 1st 'the king of kings competition about 3 years ago in which he faced [B&G]TheBoy as his final nemesis and showed really something godly about protoss. ) so shortly, there are 3 regulars and 1 special each year. And I'd also like to say there was once the 99 PKO( progamer korea open) which is usually considered the actual 1st OGN competition that was held even b4 there was OGN broadcasting station. In the finals of that competition, Freemura won over [B&G]TheBoy by score 3-2(not sure) and all match-ups were ZvZs except for one T(by Freemura)vZ in showdown.(actually not that quite sure, it was long long time ago :0) Ssamjang ranked 3rd . All casting crews were exactly same as they are now except for 1 thing that they obviously looked much younger. and it was not only sponsored but also broadcasted by Tooniverse. (V-Gundam who is ,by the way, likely to be known to almost everybody coming here, i guess, took part in but it didn't work out that much for him . and Grrr.. couldn't participate since he wasn't in korea then or he just didn't care much.)
