So I need a 100% on my macroeconomics final to barely make A- in the course with rounding.

I'm wondering if anyone's knowledgeable about macroeconomics, by any chance? The final is 25~30 questions on only 3 chapters (6, 7 and 10) on the McConnel and Brue book if anyone's familiar.

If you're not already an A+ student you're not suddenly going to get 100% on a final now, so don't expect to make it. What happens if you don't get the A- by the way, I know jack shit about american universities. In Holland you are supposed to get a 5.5 out of 10 grade to pass the course and that's about it.

I just need the extra 3.7 instead of 3.4 to be elligible for this honor system in my college that would open more opportunity for grants and scholarships.

The only reason why I believe it's possible is because of the relatively easy grading system and the general way my professor conducts class. I pretty much bs'ed the other tests because I underestimated this course that much, but I would say it's possible to get a 100 on this final since it's only on 3 chapters, all multiple choice, on less than 30 questions.

Read those three chapters, really, it shouldn't be that hard

I've studied macroeconomics like... five years ago, and it's one very interesting discipline once you understand it properly. An eye-opener really. Granted, there are parts that are quite a drag to learn, but i don't see any easy way around that. I think the main thing macroeconomics teaches you is grasping the systemic character of an economy - and to understand that you need to figure out how that system works.

What you could do to find studying easier... don't try to mechanically learn formulas and definitions, try to think of everything in cause & effect terms - how does a plus in one area translate in a minus somewhere else, how one factor affects everything around it, etc etc - and if necessary, try to translate that into mathematical expressions.

Anywho, three chapters isn't much, read them twice, taking your time with it, focusing on understanding them rather than memorizing, and you should be fine. Unless you have a stupid teacher that expects you to know your answers from that book by heart. In which case... bad luck.

edit: multiple choice tests SUCK for macroeconomics, simply because in many areas things aren't exactly cut in stone. That's probably gonna involve a lot more memorizing and a lot less reasoning

I did my macro already, the lecture was based on Blanchard / Illing. It was a 2 semester course, so it covered a lot of info. Macro is my absolutely favorite part of the economics and I will be doing advanced macro next semester, which is nerd only

Micro is easier.
Macro is like algebra. It doesn't really make sense for me as soon as i have to make some equations.
+ There are too many definitions to memorize.

3 chapters is nothing. You should have started reading and maybe taking notes like a week ago, if you're into that kind of thing. Honestly though, three chapters and ~30 multiple choice problems... READ!

i got an A in macro, it was super easy. supply & demand is simple. Then all the things about money and inflation, which isn't hard at all to understand. didn't study at all.

I thought micro was a little harder, got a B in that (fricken 89%, screw you professor for not rounding up!)

but my professor used his own book to teach it.

I have that book with me, and the publishers have a website with 30 multiple choice questions per chapter. They're pretty simple but will help hammer home the concepts if you don't know them.
