Hi! My name's Cole. I casted a few games under the alias Ghostly. If you want you can check out my youtube page at http://www.youtube.com/user/GhostlyStarcraft

Tell me what you think, if I'm terrible, anything I can improve upon.

Thanks and enjoy,

Cheers,

Cole

Teehee, didn't quite mean literally. But whatever floats your boat. Maybe you can help me brainstorm some ideas?

You need lots of work on your game knowledge, your voice is fine. But you don't have much to talk about because your lack of knowledge. I suggest watching pro casters and how they do it, or just becoming a better player by playing more games.

That makes sense. Thanks. I completely agree. I think (I could be totally wrong) that if I continue to watch and cast games with better players my knowledge will expand . The games I have casted so far are lower tier players, and maybe if I cast MLG or whatever it would be better? Thanks again for the "constructive" criticism. Not just the criticism :p

Well, before going into casting more games, I would just sit down for 3-4 hours and watch some MLG/GSL games. Or maybe just some Artosis casts from his channel.

honestly, if you want to be a successful caster you need ot know how to play the game. i'd recommend at least getting somewhat competent at the game if you want to be noticed as a caster

Sure, I watch quite a bit of Husky and Day9, but I've never really watched Artosis. I know plenty of builds and what not, but it becomes dfferent when it's actually being applied- if that makes sense.

I agree. I still play the game and it's not like I'm exclusively casting. I find casting fun, and it feels just the same as playing the game. Moreso in an analytical way.

Tell that to Husky. He's arguably the most successful caster there is if you go by the size of your viewer base.

Still, game knowledge is nice to have.

Does anybody have any ideas for me to cast? I.e. games and or specific builds?

I think that the majority of Husky's subscribers are from beta, from when there was a huge lack of beta commentaries.

What's with the fucked up colors? o.o

Yeah I say that at the start of the cast I googled it and some macs have that problem. Blizzard is working on it.

do the settings before the matches,
don't fall asleep during matches,
learn other races,
don't try to imagine builds when there are only 9 probes out
pick pro players replays

AND more important, don't play on mac cm'on...

I think if you didn't yawn so much and had more things to talk about it could be better. Talk about the risks/rewards and repercussions of each build. Talk about each player's strategy and possible gameplan. If you just give a play by play and throw in an assumption once in a while people will be left wanting to know more about the game if they are inexperienced players.

Good luck in your casting future.

But I'm so tired.... Lmao kidding. This is the kind of stuff i was looking for. Unfortunately I have to use a mac seeing as how I'm in college and this is what I use, but later on I'm sure I'll find better equipment.
