This is called Uzaku and it was ridiculously delicious. It's grilled unagi with fresh cucumbers soaked in vinegar.

This is called Umaki, meaning a unagi (sushi) roll. It's ground grilled unagi inside a Japanese style egg omelet. It's less flavourful than the first appetizer, but I thought it was very creative.

Saw a random sign for Taiyaki outside of Obana. Decided to check it out. A taiyaki is a fish-shaped (the fish being called 'tai') pastry filled with sweet red bean paste.
