Edit: Added comments.

Sorry for the lack of pictures these days... things have just been really busy. I've been to a lot more places since last time I posted, and hopefully, one day, I'll be able to organize those photos and post them here.

Life's been pretty busy, and there just hasn't been much time to check TL

This weekend, I went to Tsukiji, Shibuya 109, and Harajuku... Enjoy~

This is many tuna, yes? So this is the famous tsukiji fish market... Atop the ground lay some one thousand tuna fish being auctioned off daily (except Sundays, Holidays and every second Wednesday of every month ). During the time I was there, the fresh tuna have already been sold (they are usually gone by 3AM to guarantee freshness). The frozen ones are just as good, and on average, when I was there, they were sold around 4000 USD a fish. Highest ever was half a million.

Daiwa sushi. This is one of the most recommended sushi restaurants in Tokyo -- great bang for the yen. This sushi shop is about a five minute walk from the auction site, and therefore has the freshest sushi you can find in Tokyo (ergo Japan and world, maybe). The price is somewhat expensive, but totally acceptable for tourists. It's about 3,500 Yen (maybe 50 USD?) for seven pieces and one roll, along with tea/water and a bowl of miso soup. I was there at around 6 AM directly after the auction, and the line was full. Yes you read that right: the line was full. Evidently, the sushi shop is extremely small, and there is only so much room to line up outside of the store. We were asked to walk around for a bit and then come back to line up. It takes about one hour after you manage to get into the line. Never come in threes or fours -- you'd have to wait even longer as couples get first dibs.

Okay, these are the most fucking awesome sushi you can ever get! AMAZING, best food I have ever tasted (and I think this is saying A LOT, if you have read my previous blogs). The toro especially (toro = belly of tuna). It literally MELTS in your mouth. As well, Daiwa sushi is especially known for its amazing anago (last pic), it was simply delicious. The sushi chefs are extremely nice, and they try to converse with you even if you don't speak much Japanese

Some random seafood being sold outside of the auction site -- inside the wholesales market. It goes auction to wholesale to retailers/restaurants to consumers. We are like planktons...

The famous Shibuya crossing outside of the Hachiko exit. The busiest crossing in the world. It is literally like this every three minutes. These pictures were taken at the Starbucks nearby overlooking the crossing. They recently enforced the no picture rule, but the staff aren't too vigilant.

Shibuya 109 -- girl only department store. This store basically sets fashion for Japanese girls. You know, the slutty type with extremely short shorts/skirts and knee high boots, and curly blond hair. Yep. All guys should thank this store and build a shrine somewhere. A prevailing theme is animal prints.

Added some comments.

Definitely try daiwa sushi (or sushi dai) -- pictured. Best food you'll ever have if you like sushi (try it even if you don't).

You have to either take a cab or take the earliest train to get there, you basically want to get there before or around five, as that's when they auction the frozen tuna. It's really exciting.

Man...those shiny looking sushi really makes you feel that the crap sushi I eat in America are really not worth it

But then again, i don't really want to pay 3500 yen for 7 pieces and 1 roll...

I am not a big fan of fish but when someone present it for me I always tries it.
When I was in Tokyo my sister introduced me for this sushi, and I can only agree with cambium that there is a world of differ between normal sushi and this sushi, it is really delightful and tastes great!
I can only advise you to try it if you ever visit Tokyo
