+ Show Spoiler [Interview with Berserker] +

Berserker's fierce assault and safe management play succesfully took the inititive.

The following is Q&A from Berserker

- Anything to say on grabbing the first win?
▲ My younger teammates all recorded their first win so I had to do it too (laugh). I tend to be influenced by what's around me and my 'dongsengs' won and so it was obvious that I had to win too.

- You showed aggressive display again today.
▲ I need to play aggressive so there is no regret afterwards. So it leaves me no choice but to play aggressively and it makes me feel at ease.

- You lost out in the vulture battle.
▲ I opened with no rax double cc build which the opponent would not engage with vultures. But he collected vultures and went for an all-in strategy and I was taken by surprise a little bit. However, ultimately his resources became scarce so it wasn't effective in the end.

- You made a ceremony proxy cc which you don't do usually.
▲ I didn't plan on doing it. I was at a very advantageous position but my opponent didn't give up and kept attacking. I thought it was the last attack and to deal with it I sent in my army which included a scv. Last night, I met go.go on battle.net and he said "Ro8 user is going to sleep, just be proxy building'd tomorrow." So I did it myself. It's a trend on battle.net and has better effect than nukes.

- You have Proleague tomorrow and post-season playoffs after, are you not busy?
▲ I spent my times idle so I don't feel that way. During that time, I felt confounded and my ego was hurt. I need to show good performances so I'm working hard. I've seen my games being called 스막 match from communities and a CJ fan dissing my games, because I'm seeing those remarks I feel I have to perform better.

+ Show Spoiler [Interview with Jaedong] +

"The Tyrant" Jaedong brought forth doom drops to signal Ro8 entry.

The following is Q&A from Jaedong

- Words on taking the first game?
▲ The map overall favours Protoss so the first game was important. However I managed the first win so I feel relived although I am not in Ro8 yet. Also it feels good to end my losing streak. I came here today not necessarily looking for a win but to find (recover) my game sense. It was a thought provoking concept, yet my performance was satisfactory and I won so I'm happy.

- You recorded 3 consecutive losses this year for the first time.
▲ It's not because I have any specific problems. I don't know why I lost 3 times in a row. For some reason I didn't feel energetic and couldn't concentrate. I felt my 'blade' had become blunt so I practiced with focus on my concentration. Today's game went well,so it's important to look forward to the (near) future. Proleague positions have finalised and there is only post-season, (to practice for) and individual leagues are in progress so it's important to bring back up my 'pace'. I shall use today's win to put in the effort to find me previous form.

- It's been a while since you displayed doom drop strategy.
▲ I practiced various strategies but I wasn't decided on which build to use. I wanted to use the build I was most confident with in the game depending on the situation and it worked better than expected. Luck was on my side. I'm satisfied with using an offbeat play. I feel even better that I won like this and didn't persist on standard 'style'.

- There are worries of fatigue from busy schedule.
▲ It's true I am sllightly tired but I am taking care of myself. My losses, I think, are from bad decision making yet it's linked with tiredness and schedule. It's true I am a little tired but not so much to effect my games and I am taking care of myself physically so there is no need to worry. If I may say a few more things, I have been in a losing streak but only 3 games (laugh). I'm scared to even go on internet or communities (because of that). I can make less mistakes compared to other gamers but I'm not a god. My games aren't suffering so no need to worry.

- Your team senior ToSky announced his retirement.
▲ He left the team living quarters some time ago. It was officially announced today but I knew of it before. After his departure, I am the second most senior player after Dongrae. It's sad to see a big 'hyung' retire as a progamer and also, leaving the responsibility left to carry makes me feel burdened. ToSky 'hyung' will come around often so it doesn't matter too much and I wish him well.

- There is one more Proleague match left and the most wins competition is fierce.
▲ I don't really have anything to say about that. I lost my chance to become the sole winner. In my last (Proleague) game, rather than feeling 'I must be the most wins king', I want to finish in style with a win and end my 2-game Proleague losing streak.

- Any final words you want to say?
▲ I was doing extremely well but have gone slightly off-course. Fortunately, today's win means my 'slump' wasn't extended so I feel relieved. I think many of my fans have been worrying about me, thinking I'm tired physically and mentally. Losses and tiredness aren't related so there's no need to worry, and they can expect good performance in my next games. Finally, the coach gave me a head (?) massage before the game and it cleared my head. I want to say thanks and hope he gives me more.

+ Show Spoiler [Interview with Calm] +

Calm showed off neat unit micro / macromanagment to take the first win.

The following is Q&A from Calm

- Any words on taking the first set?
▲ I don't feel lax because I still need to win 1 more game. It's too early to celebrate.

- You caused damaged targeting the opponent's late-game.
▲ The situation today was new to me. So I played with lot of thoughts on my mind. There was no advantage to be gained facing him head on so I went for his economy. If I faced his units I would have lost.

- Did you experience such tactics used against you in practice?
▲ It's the first time I face all-in mechanic play.

- At which point did you know that you had the game?
▲ When I killed all his scvs I knew I would win if I killed the remaining army.

- You're so close to your first ever Ro8 in an individual league.
▲ I did ponder "Can't I do well in individual leagues" a lot in the past. But now it feels as if I work hard then I can do anything. I think it stems from the 'wall' of getting past Ro32.

- Your older brother ToSky's retirement has been publicised.
▲ He is still young to be in working life so if he works hard then he can achieve whatever he hopes to acheive. He wants Hwaseung to win the Proleague and for me the win the individual league but for me Proleague victory is the priority. Obviously I want to win both, but at the moment I want Proleague more.

- You have never been together with ToSky (gaming wise).
▲ I wanted to be in a different team and he wanted that too. If we were in the same team then it would look like I got to become a progamer because of him, and I wanted to make it by myself. It doesn't really matter because we live together at home.

- Your last Proleague game is tomorrow.
▲ Last Proleague game is tomorrow and if we win we'll finish 3rd. I want us to finish in lucky nunmber 3. I / We definitely will win tomorrow.

I am seeing in my mind's eye Tertiary slaving day and night to translate this for the last week, then eagerly posting this on Team Liquid only to be derided, then killing himself.

Really appreciate the work on stuff like this. I found the interview with (Z)Calm and (Z)Jaedong to be most entertaining. They have both been playing fairly well lately, though I still wouldnt go as far to say that (Z)Jaedong is in his top shape.

Either way, going to be keeping an eye out for (Z)Calm. He seems to be doing pretty well in most the leagues.

Better late than never.

Anyway, the Jaedong interview is actually quite enlightening considering all the talk there's been lately about Jaedong's tiredness and his mini-slump. So it's still relevant.

Thanks for the translation.
