StarCraft is surprisingly easy to get rusty at. Not only has my gameplay diminished in my several months of complete disinterest from a glorious bonjwaesque D- to a D------, but my game analysis and understanding has declined as well.
Maybe StarCraft is more like an ex-girlfriend to me. Something I think about calling every now and then because I'm lonely, but ultimately knowing everything will turn out sour.
Maybe StarCraft is the woman I was always meant to love but could never quite make the sacrifice for. I've been on indefinite hiatus from writing for TeamLiquid and I've always sucked at playing but I stopped playing ICCUP when I was once an avid D- champion.
Now that I've reinstalled, I start to feel that same little smirk come up on my face when I execute that perfect vulture runby. I start to feel my fists clench when I see 5 zealots come in base before my factory is even finished. Has any game, much less, any pastime inspired such joy and fury within me?
I am not what I once was in the community, if I was much at all. But, warily, I return. Because when I see Fantasy's face I can't help but feel like a korean schoolgirl. Maybe, after all, I do belong here.

Yet at the same time, there are tonnes of people who take breaks from SC and come back much better.

I got raped by D- protoss scum right now because I forgot what a build order is.
Barracks? yeah i'll just make that at 12 and do an FD push with no marines. Cool.

Indeed SC is not like riding a bike (at least for me). I haven't played for like 2 years and I played a few games with friends recently and it was shocking to see how much out of rhythm you are lol.

I don't know, it used to be only watching games interested me. Then I won a few games on ICCUP, and now I'm devoted to playing and getting better. Not a good thing to happen the summer before Junior year though. Goddamn SAT

The game evolves. Try to compete in cycling with a 10yo bike and without any recent training and I'll assure you'll be dropped by the bunch right away.

TvP is still 1-fact FE into heavy taank/vult mech right?
I've seen some TvT's and it isn't too different.

Flash had this nasty TvZ adaptation of mech where he made gols and then transitioned to a tank mnm thing with goliaths, with no valks. Let him not make turrets vs muta. Some shit like that.
