So I had some friends over at my house today, and we were trying to figure out how to play Axis and Allies. In Starcraft, I think their rank would be close to F-. I mean, reallly terrible, but they like watching it. Then one of them was like "Hey, play a game on iccup, I want to see you own someone". I was C- a few seasons back, so I was like "ya sure, just one game" since this game wears me out.

So I play some guy named "TL-Riddler". He went 3hatch ling all-in, I defended it. He went 3hatch hydra, I defended it. And then he tried to expand to a mineral only on python, and spent the rest of the game being annoying. And then I 1a2a3aed him, and his shit died. Then the bastard disconnects. And my friends thought it was funny.

So if you read this, TL-Riddler: I hate you. I want those 45 seconds of my life that you stole from me back. Who would have thought that someone from TL could be BM?

Well he disconnected, but I still got my points, so that isn't a problem. It was just annoying, and when I see a TL tag on someone, I think "Hey, maybe this guy isn't a fag and I can have a good game", rather than the normal "I wonder how this guy will cheese/BM me this game" with the majority of iccup users.

he didn't disconnect if you got the points
there is a bug , a router conflict(?), that when one player leaves, the lag screen appears for the rest of the people, in this case you.

You could've easily just messaged him on iCCup and found that out.

So, when I get the drop screen, and have to wait 45 seconds to drop him, he didn't disconnect? I mean, other than the obviousness of the disconnect screen, he was getting plowed, I was storming all his drones, his army was dead, there was no GG, and then drop screen. In the past when people disced me, it was in situations like that too. I didn't know there was a bug like that, though.

Maybe the TL didn't stand for TeamLiquid but it rather stood for something else.

He left because he knew he lost. you misinterpreted that as he disconnected when he knew he lost.
I leave without saying gg 90% of the time.

just ask him on iCC next time
if he turns on dnd and tells you to fuck off then you have your answer

Actually, I think ICCUP is recognizing drophacks.. there have been several times on iccup this season where my opponent, at a clear disadvantage, drops and I still get the points.

That said, I agree with Xeo. You must do the community a favor and report this user.

I think MasterOfChaos has talked about this before, but there are more than one types of DCs. With one kind, it's impossible for the server to tell who DC'd from who. The other kind, you can.

I don't remember which is which, and unfortunately not particularly with hax...so...yeah. That's just something to keep in mind.

Jking, but seriously I expected more posts like this when I read the OP.

But don't judge the guy to harshly, last time I went into an ellimination race ZvZ and lost while his last building (extractor) was in red. When my last building was about to die I screamed DAMNIT! and accidently kicked my internet cable. I disconected and felt bad about it.
Ah, and I got flamed to death when I reconected hahahaha

tl-riddler is an old school player // was a wgtour admin.. I think TL was a clan or something and it's not related to teamliquid at all afaik.

btw does anyone know how to fix getting dropped when you leave a game? this happens to me so often(maybe like 25% of the time) and i dono how to solve it >_<

I don't think the server recognizes the disconnect correctly in every case, but I think they changed it so that in case of undecidable disconnect the player with more points gets the win. Since most deliberate disconnects happen when one player is far behind this is a good heuristic which reduces complaints.

I've had this happen to me. I will win a game and they will say 'gg' and then the disconnect screen shows up and I do not think if they said 'gg' that they will try to disconnect. I've also had this happen while playing on ICCup and losing a game and leaving and saying gg but my opponent got the drop screen instead.

yeah i can host games, got 6112-6119 forwarded and stuff..this only seems to happen to me when I use the lan latency, whether it's on bnet or iccup -_-;
