Hahahaha figured I'd get around to posting the pictures of how I celebrated my first snow-covered Winter back in March. Why build a snowman on the lawn outside your dorm when you can build a snow... REAVER?
I present Reaver, Scarab, and Drone: A Still Life (Reaver by me, Drone and Scarab by my friend)
Just as in real life, the artist chose to portray the scarab hurtling towards its target at an angle divisible by 45 degrees.

how long did it take to make the snow reaver haha
Seeing as I made it back in March, I don't fully remember. I'd never played in the snow before (gasp!) and really underestimated how long it would take. I think the whole scene took between two and three hours.

Like I just stated, I really underestimated how long it would take. Originally, I had a very extensive scene planned, with a mineral line full of drones and a hatchery. I even had an idea for a shuttle, but couldn't come up with a secure way of having the shuttle float above it all. The best idea I had was to place the scene next to a tree and have the shuttle sort of sticking out of it, maybe packing the snow around a low branch. But alas, my dream would've taken all day. The good news is that the reaver lasted for days! It even held human weight! I stood on it hahaha.
I do have bigger aspirations for next winter. Not sure what I'll do, but it'll be epic, for sure.
