just started watching this after a suggestion from my friend when talking about the better past and present animes. so he says "its fucking awesome dude, just like golden boy". i was a huge fan of the golden boy series even thou it was short (anime, didnt read manga). so i watch episode one and im like "shit, this is fucking awesome" lol. anyone else seen/read this? friggen great anime, even thou it was made in 98/99.

also, believe it or not, after ONLY watching the 1st episode, im kind of considering teaching as a backup plan, should my hopes of being a pharmacist dont pan out.

I watched both the anime and the drama last year and fucking loved both of them. I actually preferred the drama, but they're both great.

The manga and Live-action is much better than the anime. They cut out so many good parts in the anime.

edit: This was long time ago, havent watched anime for years. I still have the entire GTO manga set though.

My friend had it on his hard drive so I had no problem there. I'd suggest googling for sites to watch it; I'm sure they abound.

Watched it for a while and then got really bored of it after a while. I would say that Golden boy is 10X better than this.

wait actually ive been hearing that the manga is deeper and better than the anime. might check it out actually.

episode 3 is pretty fucking good btw. wish i had a teach like onizuka lol

when I watched this anime a few weeks ago I only got to the 6th episode and then I stopped watching, the first few episodes are amazingly good but then it just gets repetitive(GTO does something bad but then comes out good) and got boring for me so i stopped watching, but the manga is probably better and I should've probably read that instead :o

I read just the GTO manga, it was great, one of the better mangas out there.

It gets kinda repetitive towards the end though.

Golden boy owns everything, especially the anime with the english voices.
The golden boy manga is longer, and if you leave that one long chapter/story from the manga (crappy), it's as good as the anime. So if you want a few new good stories, definately read the manga.
