I dont know what is going on with me lately... for some reason I stopped playing SC all of a sudden for about 3 months now after I started playing Street Fighter 4, I think the main reason might be because I get to play sf4 offline alot with good players from Utah and the scene here is getting bigger and bigger everytime... with SC I never have played with any known player in real life.. (sc players that are good are cocky and usually wont play u online, cuz they only play their A buddys etc...thx god tl.net for givin oportunities like tl attack etc)
Actually the main reason Im writing this blog is because of fuckin GOMTV wtf is up with not lettin us watch valor tournament? wat kind of bulllshit is that seriously? fuck u gom! the only good thing u got going on is havin tasteless and superdaniel man... seriously wtf

fighting games seem so competetive and fun, but I just can't get into them
I bought soul calibur 4 because it looked pretty fun in the commercials, but the game is meh

I wouldn't call SF4 balanced per se, but at least it's better than a lot of games that came out before it like MVC2 and CVS2 (although they're different as fighters you get the idea). There's definitely a lot of good players holding their own with low/mid-tier characters (like Nemo's Chun, etc), but there's still a LOT of Sagat and Gouki running around. If not those two, you're likely to see either Viper or Rog, maybe Gief.

I also stopped playing Starcraft around half a year ago but I played fighting games before I stopped playing SC. FGs are less repetetive imo and so they are more fun to me. Also there is a large variety of FGs.
But I also have to say that I was really disappointed with SF4. The game is just terrible gameplay wise. Also I don't like the 3D graphics that much and imo T6BR and VF5 look much better. Imo SF4 lives from the hype and that "everyone" plays it. In Germany nearly all old members of the FG community I'm in stopped playing SF4 because it's boring and too simple. I also prefer other games.

Well, can't say something about that outside of Japan, but in Japan it's only 7th place in the arcade rankings. I think SF4 will die in the arcades when SBO is over. Also there are fighting games that are far more popular than SF4 in Japan.

SF4 is fun. Playing more of it over Starcraft is also fine imo.
I used walk to the arcade back in the early 90s every day after school just to spend some quarters on SSF2T. That game also had more priority over my favorite games then. So I understand the feeling.
Even more so when you get to the cabinet and see your friends smack talking or goofing off. Its like your favorite bar where everybody knows your name. GGPO was cool too. Now that SF4 has brought everyone(and new) back to the scene, I honestly see it just getting stronger, especially with everyone online with more tourneys locally as well.

also the thing about it dying down its because even japs play it on console. mike ross said he play mago's sagat repeatedly on 360 and justin says tokido is on his friend's lists and he plays him once in awhile.
balance is alright. i think ive eaten so many big damage sagat combo's that ive gotten used to it. only thing that irritates me is gief in general

i can understand your statement on not liking the graphics (even thou i fuckin love it) but what makes the gameplay terrible? im just wondering out of curiosity

that move is mad funny when u playing with someone next to you and if u do it and u get 1 hit u keep playing normally, but if u get the full 7 hits (that's the most ive gotten) u look over and they are like "fuck, only one ex meter" damage is like getting hit with another ultra

The Ultra system is dumb imo. A move that gives you an instant comeback. Also when a player has ultra everybody has to play very defensive not to eat the ultra and then having less life than the other guy.
Also 3rd hit dmg scaling is really fucked up. What game scales the dmg after only 2 hits?!
Imo they should remove the ultra and the game would be much better. Also less dmg on moves but reduce dmg scaling to give a reason for doing longer combos.

i think scaling is balanced well enough so damage doesnt get too crazy. i fuckin love the ultras.... add's a totally different element. but they gotta balance some chars ultra. some chars like sagat/ryu do so much damage or rufus/rog who can easily get an ultra. but vega/guile's ultra sucks monkey dick

A lot of people I know stopped playing their main game (CS 1.6, SC, DotA, Halo 3, CoD4, etc) for SF4. SF4 is a huge hit and a ton of people that I know bought either a 360 or PS3 just for the game. I have a quick question for EVO, I've read the SF4 section and it states that it is using the PS3. How do 360 players fare against this? The controls between both consoles are the same right?

basically outside of online-play they are both the same games. its on ps3 since more people are likely to have a ps3 stick and/or a ps2 converter for their stick
