I would say that it is rather Frenchmen who speak ridiculously bad English than us being good at it :p

oh comon, they are not so bad
sometimes.

Errrrrr. Yes, French people are mostly REALLY bad at English. But Swedish and Norwegian people are ridiculously good at it anyway.
In my experience, the more you go North in Europe, the better the people are at English.
I.e Norwegian and Swedish are the best, and Spanish and Italian are the worst.
So Finnish people should be good and Greek people should speak awful English, but I don't know any, so I can't check.
Back on topic, Swedish food is far from great (at least compared to French food, that's one thing we are good at...), but their fish is definitely worth the try. You can find great laks (or is it lax? Well, salmon) everywhere and cooked in thousand different ways.
Try a Swedish breakfast if you can : I had never had smoked salmon or marinated herring for breakfast before. It feels kinda strange, but I liked it a lot. And it is very nourishing.
Traditional Swedish dishes are usually labeled "husmanskost" in restaurants (Swedish people, feel free to correct me if I am wrong or mistyped).
And the standard Swedish beer is quite bad. Try their vodka instead
You are lucky I don't have a banhammer

Seriously, why do people want to go to Sweden? I don't see the attraction. It's a good country to live in many ways, but it's definitely not a place I would want to go to for a vacation.

I went to Sweden (whole Scandinavia actually) last summer and it just was a blast. Your cities are just marvelous (<3 Göteborg), so many interesting things to see (and pretty girls). The northern style of living just suits me perfectly. People are really charming and friendly and the whole atmosphere was great. Actually, I plan to move to Sweden or Denmark some time later.

I guess you as a Swede are just used to it, but to me as a foreigner, it was an unforgettable trip and I'll definately be back after I finish my studies.

EDIT: And I speak basic Swedish now, which is also nice to have!

Sweden owns, but like Holgerius said, I can't picture myself going to Sweden on a vacation if I were from some other country.

stockholm is so awesome, i was there early may and weather was awesome, things to see are the palace + gardens, and u should take one of those boat trips. There's plenty of museums but they are all kinda boring imo, just walking around the water and chilling is cool.

Too bad ur bringing ur gf, stockholm has insanely many hot chicks, more than anywhere i've ever seen :D

nightlife is good there, doesnt matter where u go, walking around the main streets u'll see cool bars and stuff all around~

Yeah, the hot chick to female population ratio is absurd.

I'm still here for the open sammich, tho. Omnom

Stockholm being twice as large together with being the capitol means that it have a lot more tourist attractions and such. Also since a while back it is the largest city in Scandinavia and if you count its whole metropolitan area you have over 20% of Sweden's population there so if you are out to visit someone you most likely have to go there.

Also I never understood the whole "Little brother" complex thing, everyone from Gothenburg who comes here assumes that we will be all haughty about them being from the second largest city and such but people here never even raises an eyebrow about it. As it is now it is just a one sided hate relationship, maybe it was mutual a long time ago but since then we forgot about it several times over.

I agree with this. Gothenburg is awesome.
