The big cities are not just not representative If I had more than 3 weeks, I would consider not going to just the big tourist destinations, but they are big tourist destinations because they are tons of fun to visit! Thanks for the help. If you had to suggest one chinese/asian restaurant what would that be? (in london of course)

Ofc you should visit Rome but imho it will be best to mix big towns with places you have no expectations towards, its always great to be surprised in a positive way. I hate the big crowds and stuff, thats way I found Paris overrated as hell, maybe if I was left to explore it on my own I would've liked it better... .. i play too much sc. Anyways, sounds great. Are you going by rail plane or car? My friend and I will be driving around europe 6800 km approx, from denmark to southern spain and back

My friend and I will be driving around europe 6800 km approx, from denmark to southern spain and back Wow, that is quite the trip, have a great time. I will be flying into Heathrow and taking the train/chunnel from there all the way to rome and then flying back to Wisconsin. I am rather jealous, Spain is one of the places I really want to go, but I can't afford to go for any longer and my gf said that the two places she wanted to go where france and england and I said Italy, so that was that. PM me if you get a chance with what parts of your trip were the best, I am always looking for travel advice!!! On May 19 2009 05:19 disciple wrote: Its not really like that. I have been to Paris before (my gf has not) and I know what you mean, but I don't really mind all that hustle and bustle especially since I am from a tiny little town and it's a nice change. Thanks for the advice though, maybe if I get another chance to be in that area of europe I'll explore some smaller towns.

You might also want to check out Cinque Terre, which is becoming increasingly touristy, but is still really beautiful and a lot of fun. I was a bit lucky in that my brother was an art history major so he sort of planned our route and I just helped out with the Spanish when we were in Spain.

Sweden feels like Utopia considering to the rest of the world, no offence. Im not saying all this cuz im Swedish. Do not listen to this guy! Stay away from Sweden! Too bad you can't go to Spain. I was in Barcelona recently, and I had an absolutely great time! Cool city. But the places you're going to are awesome as well. Out of those, I've been to London and Rome (I love that city). When are you going? If you're in Rome 31/5 you have to go watch Roma-Torino (Totti!!!). A sweet thing to do the first day in a big city with many tourist attractions (such as Rome) is to ride around in those Hop-on-hop-off tourist buses. You'll feel like a super-mega-hyper-ultra tourist when you do it, but it's truly a great way to get a nice overview of the city.
