Korean Music Festival 2009 pictures (147mb)

The 7th annual Korean Music Festival took place on May 9, 2009 at the Hollywood Bowl. I had pretty decent ramp seats ($125) and I thought I'd share the 237 pictures I took of Baek Ji Young, So Nyeo Shi Dae, Shinee, SS501, etc. Although I do not have any pics of myself to prove it, I wore my winged horse TL shirt and represented as best as I could.

The pictures that I took of Baek Ji Young really made my day because I had gotten out of my seat and ran towards the center of the garden box section to take them. When she came to the edge of the extended stage, I was able to see her beautiful face very clearly. However, after her performance, the security guards became more attentive of the rushing fans and I was not able to get any more super close shots.

Son Ho Young was such a good MC and performer, he was really able to get the audience pumped. It was entertaining how after every performance, he would say yeahhhhh in a ghetto accent.

Watching the SNSD Gee dance in person is an experience that I will never forget. I couldn't keep my eyes off of Seohyun's bright green pants and ohhhhhhh the sidesteps were so awesome. Sadly, once again YoonA was unable to attend because of drama filming.

This was SS501's first re-united performance after their temperary breakup to focus on seperate projects (Boys Over Flowers), etc. They performed 5 songs and really got the fangirls out of their seats. About a year ago, I was really into their song Deja Vu and I loved the dance so much that rewatched a youtube performance hundreds of times. Now seeing them perform it in person was just amazing. Also they all have such awesome hair.

Bah! Lucky - SS501 and SHINee are the two bands I've not seen, but want to. (Aside from U-kiss.) I've been a fan of SS501 almost since their debut and they're in Japan too effing much these days. Glad you had fun

I assume this is akin to me going to a concert featuring britney spears/spice girls/christina aguilera/backstreet boys.

Is this really necessary? I don't understand the purpose of posting negatively in a blog like this (and concerning a music scene which you seemingly know NOTHING about) when I'm just trying to share my experience and pictures.

Baek Ji Young is fantastic, although her scandal was not up to par in my opinion. I'm glad she came through and is still sending out hits for her fans to enjoy.

I've learned to stop caring about the artist's private lives. I don't understand why so many people made a big fuss about somebody else's sex tape when it doesn't even affect their own lives. But yeah, she is an AMAZING performer and I respect her as a singer.

According to the official program booklet, this performance was Kim Tae Woo's first return performance.

No, I totally agree with you. I feel that most people have sex and to call someone out just because some asshole filmed them is just stupid and really sexist, since the women get more negative responses than the men. I love her so much and her voice is the best, especially live.

I wouldn't either. He sucked in 꽃보다 남자 kinda...He is horrid at showing emotion.
