I just got word from admissions that I'm accepted as a transfer student to UNC Chapel Hill (the good one). I got a very good music scholarship and it is very close to my home, so the cost will be very cheap for me. I'll be double majoring in Music Performance (to keep my scholarship) and Psychology.
I'm glad to be going there next year, even though my previous blog said that "College isn't Necessary." I do believe that even if you have no fucking clue what you're going to be doing in life, going to college will be beneficial since it will open up a wide range of options for you in the future. And since I'm going there for less than 4000$ a year, how can I refuse?
This makes me really happy, because I used to be a lazy ass for most of high school (had a 3.2-3.3 GPA without ever studying). But I've been working hard to get accepted there, and have kept a 4.0 GPA for the past two years. As well as winning a few music competitions on Saxophone.
Just felt like sharing the good news!

The insane prices for colleges in other countries never fail to amaze me. I just received an email from college administration that on top of the €530 i have already payed, i need to add another amount of €34, which make about €570 = 740 USD. Only the money paid to enroll in college though. There was an article in the papers a couple of months ago which calculated a student costs about €3000 all-in if he lives at home and €4000 if he lives at a dorm or similar.
Is your €3000($4000) all-in?

They're strict on semester count. Finish your double major in the 4 semesters you'll have or you'll have to appeal. And I don't think they like giving you extra semesters when the reason is to go for a double major vs just graduating with one major.
Good for you to know beforehand and really schedule your semesters so you can manage that. Had a friend who transferred because of it, and I was pretty tight on it.

It used to be 380€ per semester in Austria, but they removed that fee

Congrats, haha its funny of the contrast between your previous blog and this one.

Music AND psychology... wow, you make me jealous man. I'm stuck struggling to study medicine (not that hard for me, but I find no interest in it) to keep my mother's pharmacy running and to ensure I'll have a steady secure job. My real interests are music (classical guitar mainly right now) and I'd love to be studying something from social sciences like psychology, sociology or anthropology.
