After many PMs to Khaymus and Track asking them various clarifying questions, and the fact that my "job situation" hasn't changed much, I've decided on joining the AirForce, or at least the ROTC program for the AirForce. I'm not sure which one I will choose at the moment, but I still have some time before making my decision certainly.
My family and friends support me doing it, except for my sister, who worries that "once the government owns you, they own you for life". Uhm... yea... I don't see that happening.
I'm the best man for my brother's wedding which is taking place very late in May, so I'll make my final decision by then definitely and proceed shortly after the wedding.

Regarding my 2nd week of the TL Tecmo Super Bowl league:

A brief summary:
I won 44-0 and contained QB Eagles very well, which effectively stopped his entire offense (I also forced a fumble and a safety on him). And as usual, my Bears offense was unstoppable.
Record: 2-0
Prediction(new): 5-0 reg season, 2-0 finals
I've simply had way more experience than those I'm playing against. After the finals, I'll write a guide on how to optimally play TSB and how to improve quickest. It may be the simplest competitive sports game to get good at - you just need to know what to do and practice execution.
edit: Oh yea, and go Nony!

Good luck in the Air Force. My uncle is career USAF, and he enjoys his work a lot. Also, a cool thing about being in the US military is that you can live in cool places (overseas) on the government's dime.
Of course, you can always break out of the military and return to a career in the private sector. Many employers (and schools, if you decide to go for more education) really value military experience because it usually means discipline and leadership skills. So, don't listen to your sister

There are many perks to being in the AirForce - and amongst them, like you said, is being able to see more of the world. Currently I've only been to US and Canada. I really want to go overseas sometime, and this would be the perfect opportunity!

they r the best of the best man... i would soo want to pilot a F-22 (they r out of this world...)
but wat ur sister says does have some truth to it
first off being that they could reign u in during wartime and also even in private sectors and such once u've worked for the government if ur company has government related work that needs to be done u would be the top candidate for the job... not that that is always a bad thing but sometimes it's harder to get out of that kind of rut (they assign u government related work because u've already been screened by the government and such and they don't want to bother going through all the process and paper work w/ a guy that nvr worked for government b4... so they would choose u)
but then again this is main true for stuff like CIA and FBI... so iono if joining the military would count

I am not intending on becoming a pilot. I am going there to fulfill a technical position, which they need far more than people who want to be pilots. Also, my eyesight isn't good enough to be a pilot.

I don't know specifically yet. I know they have a group within the AirForce called the "cyberwarriors" that deal with all sorts of computer-related and network-related issues that may arise. This could range from maintaining the computers there, ensuring the security of networks, intercepting transmissions, jamming radars, etc. Basically my role would be to keep "cyberspace" secure and reliable.
Or if I join the ROTC program, I'll get my bachelors degree in an IT-related field (see past blog entries for details on my education), and go from there.
