A few months after that, I was downloading and episode of Friday Night Lights I had missed. I was paranoid, because my internet was shut off right as I was browsing the NBC website, watching another episode. I had to call Cox that time, and they guy talked to me and was like "I just have to tell you that we have a three strike rule. If we have to stop your service again, your account will be up for review, and we'll decide if we want to keep you as a customer." I've been really careful with my downloading since then. My best guess is that the owners of popular content are tracking IPs via torrents, and then informing the ISPs. But I have no idea how it works. | ||

Seriously though, torrents (especially public ones) are just asking for it. Anyone can join the tracker and see who else is on it. + Show Spoiler + binary newsgroups, on the other hand, are nice | ||
