So my best friend just got on ventrilo with a rather disturbing story.
He was very upset/crying. He said everything was taken except his computer.
He apparently answered the door for someone, who proceeded to hit him in the face with a rod once the door was open.
They beat up his cousin who was in a back room somewhere, grabbed what they could and left.
His cousin went to their neighbors to use their phone.
He got on ventrilo and told me he was bleeding everywhere.
The police, and possibly an ambulance, were supposed to be on their when he got off to try to clean up a bit.
This really upset me. I moved to a new state a few years ago, so I can't even go to his place or something to make sure he's OK.
I'm so worried

He knew I was online and waiting for him. We were going to play some starcraft and he went afk for food or something
EDIT: He also didn't have anyone else to talk to. His cousin was already calling the police, I'm pretty sure he was just looking for some kind of comfort.

I think you can use a stronger word than 'robbed'.
Most house robbers stay clear of people. This story is an unfortunate reminder of the reason why you should be hesitant to open your door too readily...

More than likely, yes, but a lot of robbers try to operate covertly, rather than going all Rambo and just marching into a house and kicking ass.

A very good point, I have a friend who is honestly the nicest kid anybody ever could know, he's also always tried his hardest for everything, and about 2 years ago he got jumped by about 6 guys when he was walking to the drug store to buy some milk.
Karma is as frits says mere coincidence.
Nuada I am deeply sorry to hear about what happened to your friend and especially that there is nothing you can do to help. I hope your friend and his cousin have a hasty recovery.

if you come in breakin the window then if there r people inside but far away from the rm they broke into the owners can respond appropriately but if u ring the doorbell then when the resident opens the door, u already got one knocked out... just one less trouble for them...

If robbers do something bad, something bad will happen to them is the logic here. So the person who got robbed had to have done something bad first to have this happen to him. If this happened because he did GOOD the message is to always act neutral? That's how it works? So when you save someone are you supposed to kill someone to balance it out to prevent something terrible from happening to you?
