They are the sole reason I am D-/D and cannot break D+ I live in the west coast, so when I play at night or after school around 5-9 PM or so, lots of Koreans are on. Yet I reach D- after every two nights or so and people don't want to play me because of my bad record. I /clearstats YES every week, but it doesn't really help. What to do, what to do. Theoretically I should be improving, right? I mean, playing during US morning/afternoon hours is easy enough, but at night it's time for the rape. This happen to all of you or just me? >_>"

happens to me too, and because of that, I only play at those hours.

Whether or not you're improving depends on you really, because you might not be. Just have to think about the games you lose and actively think about improving mechanics, etc while you play.
It sometimes helps to watch your replays. I usually wait a couple days and go back and watch a few so I forget what happened in all of them. That way I can look at my games with "fresh" eyes.

I used to be like this but i kept playing and now i can finally reach d+ fairly easily

Later in the season, all of the Koreans will be playing others around their level. All of the rankings tend to even out later on so you can be playing real Ds.
|
Yeah, last season when I first started to play Brood War (around Oct-Nov) I was close to making it to D+, even when playing on these late hours. I didn't think it would take this long for the ranks to settle though =/ How long do the seasons go for anyhow?
|
If you're on ICCUP to ladder up and gain points, it's annoying, I agree. If you're looking for good practise games, it's good to play during the Korean hours. I find that they play more standard than foreigners and most of them are very gm.
|
My reason for not getting to D+ is that I suck.
I wish I had Koreans to blame it on ;_;

oh cheer up ^^ just stick with it. once you start to understand the game a little bit more, it's really great. i never realized starcraft was this complex;; then you get to appreciate a lot of the progamers.

It's not that I only want to rank up, but it's kinda hard to find good games when no one wants to play because of my rank. It is good practice, yes. I will have to disagree with you on the standard part though. I just recently switched to P because when I was Z, no matter what hour it was, I would get bunker rushed by T or 2 gate by P maybe 1 in every 10 or so games. It's become really annoying. I don't seem to experience that as P however. I never get cheesed anymore

Funny. I'm P, and the last two games on ICCup I played was a proxy 2-gate against toss and a bunker rush (don't ask me why he bunker rushed against a P, but he won!)

Fuck...I completely forgot about actively learning, rather than passively...
Back when I used to play warsow, before each game I used to decide on one key aspect of gameplay that I would improve. I eventually got good at warsow (not one of the best, as the best have been playing for 2 - 4 years or something, but competent), before quitting because of the small community, and SC2 being announced (Warsow is dying).
Thanks alot for reminding me :D

Most Koreans are gm. So far I've met one (1) bm korean, the rest have all been mannered

I was 26-14 last season D+. 3750.
Right now I am 18-33, D 1360 or something equally miserable.

ouch Do you play pretty late at night?

notice that it is the begining of the season so it is even harder imho
and probably you get better and are improving a lot... for instance when i play opponents who rape me really bad i understand a lot of my mistakes and am a better player somehow the next game - micro-macro-timingwise^^
