Im interested in a new PC and money isn't REALLY an issue. Honestly I'd LIKE to keep it under $2,000 but w/e
- I want a gaming PC
Anyways I really don't know shit for shit about computer parts. I have been looking at newegg.com , ibuypower.com and some other sites.
If someone could link me or really go into detail on things like video cards or just throw some good knowledge at me, I'd appreciate it.
Things like dual video cards? Are they worth it ?
Intel or AMD?
If money wasn't an issue what is basically your dream computer?
Basically If I knew what a monster computer was , I could find the areas where I'd cut down to bring the price down. Like Blu-Ray burners and shit aren't a big deal for me.

A custom built computer that costs more than 1000$ just isn't worth it in my opinion. Paying a premium for the top of the line parts is not only unnecessary since you don't actually need them but just a waste of money altogether since those top of the line parts will come down in price so quickly.
If you are going custom save money and keep it under 1000$, it'll still be a realllllly sweet computer compared to the premade ones you can buy for the same price and it will be easily upgradable if you need to.
Just as an example I paid 650$+recycled parts about 6 months ago and have a computer fast enough to run Crysis at the highest settings(just without the highest resolution since I only have a wimpy 1280x1024 display)

Your box shouldn't be over $1000, like the previous poster stated. Do you need a monitor + parallels, or just the tower?
Also: how comfortable would you be with constructing the computer yourself? It's incredibly easy.

If I had the money, I'd go with this setup:

The 4870 X2 is still the 2nd best video card and Core i7 is amazing. You'll be able to play anything at any resolution (exception of Crysis of course).
That case has really good airflow, 3x120mm fans and a 200mm beast on top. G. Skill RAM has the lowest timings I could find and they are pretty good. I picked Gigabyte instead of ASUS just because I like Gigabyte better and that motherboard has a built in water block. So if you want to go liquid cooling you could do some serious overclocking.

i7 if your just buying a tower not the whole sha bang like monitor etc i'd find that a bit harder to fit in 2k under i7 and have a well rounded computer for your other loves besides gaming.
