^- as the title says, I'm quite new to the AirSoft gun stuff. Me and a few of my friends decided that it would be pretty cool and fun to start playing some AirSoft. Well, I really don't know what gun to buy or anything. We set up some restrictions so that the game would be fair...
Restrictions: Spending cap (for gun): $50 +/-$5 FPS limit: 400 (.12g)
well, I am considering an M14: $39.95 * Full Size M14 Airsoft Replica Pellet Rifle * Capacity: 37 Rounds * FPS: 390 (.12g) * Adjustable Hop Up * Tri-Rail RIS (Rail Interface System) Integrated Front and Top Scope Rail
Includes: * Sniper Rifle * BB Speed Loader * Cleaning Rod * Tri-Rail Mount http://www.hobbytron.com/SniperRifleAirsoftGunDRVB92058.html
From what I have read, it is more like 350 FPS for .12g bb, and 250ish for .20g bb.
Is it a good deal, and if not, any suggestions? Should I use .20g bbs or .12g bbs?
|
Oh dude this is awesome shit. I played a couple of times but got more deeper in paintball. Well actually played with paintball guns more then airsoft. Matter of fact we used to shoot bb guns at each other. I grew up with some ugly friends. I must be a ugly person.
Oh but yea I think its a great deal what your getting. Are they the automatic ones?
|
No, it's a spring loaded. Good "budget" automatic ones are hard to find right?

everything for airsoft is so fucking expensive. you can buy real guns for cheaper.

If you mean like paintballs? No it doesn't. They are small plastic yellow/orange/red bb's. While growing up I had received a bunch of these airsoft toys. My favorite one thou was a .44 that was an automatic. It required two double a batteries and shot like a real pistol. I don't know how much it cost me(parents) thou since I was only like 10-13 @the time.
Paintballing would be way funner but it depends on ur budget. Shit I remember even having rubber slingshot guns. As for what I recall I had about 3-4 hand slingshots as well.

Is everyone one of your posts about how tough and badass your childhood was? Last post I saw was you talking about taking in pregnant raccoons and keeping them as pets. Seriously, what the fuck? Is that you 50 cent?

Real guns are considerably less complicated and easier to produce, in what way is this surprising?

negative. Tokyo Marui guns are top of the line airsoft products. They do not exceed $400. Try buying an MP5 Heckler and Koch for $400. Simple motors and plastic/metal parts are cheaper for an airsoft gun. Opposed to higher quality materials needed for a real weapon.
A blowback gas pistol is max $170 (very high quality), what clean gun can I get for $170?
|
To the OP:
You have to be careful of the brand also. If its is too good a deal, its probably going to be a chinese made POS. Visit shortyusa.com to see more quality products. I guarantee you 100% that chinese branded products will break after repeated firings (exceptions are UTG, they are a great value). The spring and plastic with break or malfunction.

lol, don know about the gun..but the vid on the site is hilarious.... the box... just brilliant

Well, I got a crappy, auto M4 because I thought it looked cool. Turns out the hop-up feature wasn't even true (lying bastards). Even though it was $40, I got what I paid for and I've regretted it ever since. So if I were in your position I would much rather have a spring airsoft gun for sniping.
I'm no pro with airsoft guns but two things I know: 1. Never buy an M4 (i don't know why but my friend said that they always suck) 2. If you're going to buy an electric/gas airsoft gun you might as well settle for a good one. And if you're gonna do that be ready to pay some hefty cash.
Where are you guys planning on playing?
|
We haven't really planned out where though, probably at a school or something. well, i don't think $50 is enough to cover a good electric, let alone a gas, and I don't want to have to upkeep my gun with batteries/gas.
I think I might go with the M14 simply because it has some good reviews on most sites I viewed it on.
http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AR-M14-M160-B2.htm is $5 cheaper, and I found reviews on it!
