Installing Masters of Orion 2 on Vista

Well posts like these unfortunately consist of half my blogs, however this is just a testament to how helpful the teamliquid community really is and im really grateful.

I recently bumped into a thread mentioning this game and i found the old disc lying around, but theres a problem. After i hit "install" in the menu my computer just completely ignores it and dosnt do anything. Can anyone help me install/get this to run on vista?

try running as admin, that fixes like 50% of stuff like that on vista

dos box for the win. install it in dos mode, then run from there

Yeah i dled that but i have no idea how to use it

well, basically it works just like dos used to. cd directory = change directory.

for some reason when i try to enter a command it wont let me use the \ key it turns into a half bracket, im sry if this sounds dumb but im challenged when it comes to tech lol

haha, you gotta use / and not \
and, do you know how to mount? type mount c and then the directory where the game is
then type C:
then go as normal
