So to be honest. I grew up on cheesy rap/hip hop. Things like 50 cent, eminem, snoop dogg, etc. I'm not trying to knock them. But I recently found a more relateable side of American Hip Hop in the form of Atmosphere. I've know about these guys for the past few months. But I typed atmosphere into TL and saw no results so I decided I would make a blog dedicated to them.
Atmosphere is made up of two members. Slug, the one spilling the rhymes. And Ant, the one behind the great beats.
I don't know many other people that listen to Atmosphere to be honest but the few that i've talked to seem to love them.
Atmosphere is an amazing group with deep lyrics. I find that during my daily waits for busses Atmosphere always ends up being played. Just hoping to spread the love.
Ive been listening to Atmosphere for so long. Saw them live twice. If you like Atmosphere, you'll also like Murs, Eyedea and Abilities, Immortal Technique. They have all collaborated before. Heres Murs new song Can It Be Me

Yeah I know Slug does a lot of work with other artists. I like a lot of his stuff with Murs, I haven't heard much of Murs' solo work, but I will definately check it out. Evidence sounds pretty good too, I'll have to check them out as well.
Here's another song that Slug did in collaboration with a few other artists. They called themselves Deep puddle dynamics. I can't say I loved the album but this song I really enjoyed.
ahhhh fuck you got started on their Epitaph stuff. I've been listening to them since about 2002 too. They were MUCH better back then. You gotta get the early headshots mixtapes and sad clown bad dubs to appreciate slug's brilliance. It's funny that I thought he was a sick artist and had the potential to be great but wasn't yet when I was in high school, then I grew up but he never followed and instead degenerated into making pure girl drama songs to sell more records. I haven't listened to any of their stuff after "trying to find a balance." However despite all that slug is still one or the most talented rapper I've ever listened to. Long live atmosphere

Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Brother Ali, etc.. the kind of hip hop that makes me wanna stick razor blades in my ear. Ok, JK, but i do require a pillow and warm blanket -_-;
