So I reinstalled sc tonight as me and a friend are getting all nostalgic.

However after I download the iccup launcher, download patch 1.15.3, install the patch, and go to launch the game... I cant log on to any servers without getting

"Battle.net was unable to properly identify your application version. Please uninstall and reinstall."

So I do this, and same thing happens. I can't log onto any bnet servers or iccup server, but I can log on to that crappy polish ladder Netcraft(PSL).

Halp.

hahah yea bnet is on 1.16 but the auto DL of bw through bnet downloader is set to 1.153 I think

what is wrong with these bloody games, now I can start up wc3 but I just see a black screen, even though everything else works, ie I can hear background sounds and click stuff.

try launching sc without the icc launcher

don't use the official ICCup patcher, it screws your install, you have to fully reinstall

use Texas' program that reverts you back to 1.15, and then download from bnet when you want to go back to 1.16

I've never had any problems like that using iccup's patcher

Huh? I'm using the 7x patcher and am having 0 problems jumping between Bnet and ICCUP (although I haven't tried the automatic update via bnet, I just re-patch to 1.16 via the 7xPatcher).

I only get that message sometimes, when i have chaoslauncher open, but it hasn;t happened in a while, also i have 0 problems with the patcher as well :p

I use 7x patcher for 1.16 to 1.15 and connect to bnet to take it back to 1.16 when necessary and never had a problem :o

Yeah I can't believe they haven't fixed this patch yet. I've entirely abandonded the Bnet servers entirely due to this patch and I'm sure many others have too -_-

That's the point. Lol they're clearing out brood war to make sure everyone switches over cleanly to starcraft 2
