Nowadays, it doesn't really matter, as Times New Roman is the new standard. Putting two spaces will help lengthen an assignment if you're having trouble with length. ;P Another cheap trick is to increase all periods and other unobtrusive punctuation marks a couple sizes larger. It's not noticeable unless you're submitting it electronically. hehe. | ||

@Micronesia: I know really, adding an extra space probably won't even get you an extra line lol. Better to make it 12.5 font and 1.15 space. | ||

I use two as I've been taught to use two, but in most printed works they use only one, and most typesetters recommend using only one. I remember reading this a while back (sin #4), but I'm still not sure if I agree that not doing it is a sin, rather than simply preference. To me it's the same as using normal commas, or Oxford commas. Most places recommend using a normal comma, I tend to use an Oxford comma because it makes more sense to me. | ||
