in my experience the cpu fan is usually temp2, but u can tell which it is just by loading ur cpu and watching which temps rise. u can load it with a program such as OCCT or Prime95.
but if u wanna skip all that, just open the side of the case and aim a large fan directly into it, if it still crashes in about the same time, it probably isnt heat.
Also like what others said, it shouldnt hurt updating everything, from windows, video drivers, game's patches to flashing bios.
other stuff to do if u cant fix it:
Check Ram, run on one stick or swap with known good ram.
Check PSU, swap with a known good one.
Reinstall windows. FUN!
 all off those sound really fucking tedious .... could it be the power supply?

F3 never shuts down on me at all and my specs aren't really TOP notch so I've no idea what to say :-x Is this the first time it happened to you? Just when running F3 ?

Powersupply unit. It should look like a small-ish box (~3 by ~4 by ~5 inches). It sill have the power cord input and should have a separate fan.
You have a pretty hefty machine. If you're running on a low wattage that could be the problem.
My bet is on:
-Overheating (although 44c isn't that bad for cpu, at all.)
-Under-powered PSU
-A simply software glitch/ issue (Out-of-date game patch, Video (even audio =s) drivers, etc)

just have a fan on your graphics card, i do that and it works fine

The game is poorly coded, you can try to update the drivers or you can also get the fix from piratebay. Its possible that the game crashes and your computer shuts off instead of BSOdying.

Ok i just got myself a new PSU and a fan just in case. I am currently reinstalling the game. ILl re post to tell you guys if it works.

i think it's overheating... comps only shut off when cpu or poewrsupp over heats...
or in the case of a old or faulty HD when HD overheats
ur power sup might be giving up on u...

This happened to me on my laptop when I played newer games, and I fixed it by just using a blow dryer and giving the ventilation grates a quick once-over.

i opened up my computer when i installed my new PSU wasn't abnormally dusty

if it only shuts down when playing F3, and not for other similarly intensive games, then it probably isnt heat. update all ur software / drivers etc.. that should fix it.

seriously try windowed mode first - i actually remember now, whenever it used to crash in full screen for me, my computer would shut down not bsod, even though my hardware would still be running, cpu fan still spinning. was weird as fuck.
