Apparently some people think that ladder admins don't contribute a lot.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=83161&currentpage=49#965

Now lets make something clear, ladder admins are THE HARDEST WORKING ADMINS on iCCup they have to sort through HUNDREDS of complaints every week sometimes upwards of 700 and never get any thanks for doing it. All they ever get are people posting on the complanit against an admin forum going "OMG ADMIN MADE BAD DECISION." And guess what they still do it because they want to help the community.

I don't care about you belittling me because I know that it's wrong but don't even think of belittling the ladder admins who work so hard for -you- and get no thanks. Thats just wrong man, wrong.

PS this isnt aimed completely at meathook but I"ve seen people who seem to think that being an admin is easy and that they do it just to get a cool tag. Those type of people are gone within a couple days every time because they don't do anything. The ones who remain work hard for YOU and never get any thanks.

The ladder admins are like any other sport referees. Nobody notices them until they make a mistake.

It definitely shouldn't be that way. Keep up the good work!!

Yeah, I can vouch for the work admins do, I worked for ICCup for a month before I realized the work got to me.

There literally are hundreds of replays to go through and comments are bitches and moans about hackers most of the time

Yeah raelcun they don't really realize the work that goes into being a ladder admin. I was a LA for like 3months or so until the work put together with school was too much for my schedule. Its tough to maintain that job and takes a lot of dedication.

I was a CAT super admin for about 6 months, and it was during the time when oblivion first hit the server. I had to of spent 7hrs a night handling abuse complaints, and searching for abusers. I didn't even have time play during all of that. Eventually I had to go back to working out of town, and stepped down. It was by far the hardest internet job ive had lol

At least you can put it on your resume, right? Volunteer work is volunteer work.

Maybe TL can have an international "Ladder Admins Day" where we celebrate and raise awareness to ladder admins who are crazy and work hard. I had no idea there were so many complaints though... I don't think I've ever played against someone I thought was hacking. It's gotta be like 500 false alarms of idiots accusing people of map hack.

PS: As much sympathy as I feel for you, I really don't like the way you handle this. There's no sense in getting mad about burdens you asked to have.

Yeah, meathook was a bit of a douche in that thread.

But there are other people in the thread who are just voicing their opinions in a fairly good manner. We KNOW you do it all for free, but surely you want iCCup to be seen as a reputable, professional site.. and have the courtesy to inform the community on when things aren't working etc.

I'm only getting mad because I don't like to see the other members of my team who work so hard get degraded like that and I will stand up for them and tell everyone just how much respect they deserve when it is not being accorded to them, I think it is shameful to do otherwise.

I'm sure they can speak for themselves You know the phrase "take the high road," or "don't lower yourself to their level?" That's what I mean. These people are nothing, you don't even have to talk to them (and you shouldn't). When you do talk to them, you just legitimize them and make them think they're being heard. It'd be like if TL went to GG.net to continually tell every dumbass who got banned that really, TL is a great place full of people who work really hard to bring free content, and they should be grateful they even got the chance to see such a contributive site. There's no reason to make these people think anyone cares what they think.

We see this rant from an Admin on every ladder website eventually.

WGTour - > PGTour - ICCup.

It's unrewarding work, that's why you should be a forum admin. You'll be god amongst men.

People are just mad because they have no idea whats going on, except that what it said on the site and whats happening are two very different things. iCCup should try and inform everyone of whats going on, and everyone else should STFU AND WAIT.

The vast majority of the admins on iCCup arent from english speaking countries and thus don't visit TL, even though they can speak english they have other sites to visit. I posted in my blog and not in the general forum because I realize that it's not something that should go on the main forums. When I put it in my blog it's more of an opinion this is what I think rather than "hey stop bashing the admins" which is what encourages them to keep doing it.

Well thank you for that hand out of attention. But then again that's what blogs are. But in my opinion asking for thanks is worse than getting no thanks, which is what happened here rant or not. And hey being from the golden age of admins, where us three supers were all coherent english speakers I know it's not an easy job. But I never wanted thanks, and just ignored people that bitched. It's really not that hard.

I really want to play some SC today because i have been away from the game for a couple of months, but im sure the reason why the server and the website are down is because the admins are having problems, not because they do not want to make things work.

Lets just wait and stop bashing the people that do so much for us without pay.
