So, being a college student who is sometimes stuck in the library or elsewhere without a mouse cause I forgot to bring one, and yet at the same time happen upon a desire for some ICCUP, I decided to see how far I could get playing on my laptop without a mouse! I played 11 games yesterday, a mix of T/Z/P, as follows:
Currently: 8-3 ; 1824 D
T: 4-0 TvZ /// 0-3 TvP /// 1-0 TvT
Z: 2-0 ZvP
P: 1-0 PvP
So, it really ticks me off when all the P's ever do on BlueStorm vs my T is cheese me to no end t.t
And then I try to micro against it, but fail miserably cause no mouse micro sucks ASS =/. So, to all those protosses out there, please remember; reused cheese tastes really bad! Don't use it! =)
Playing with touchpad is really interesting, since I can't spam my ass off, I actually have to start using apm in a useful manner, and in general pay more attention to the minimap and stuff, all of which are things I traditionally ignored, or kept forgetting about in game. Also, it makes me focus more on strategy, and less on blatant macro macro macro macro (cause my micro always sucked XD). So, it's been a pretty good workout/training of BW skills that I never really developed. I think I'll keep this up and see how high my rating can get like this ^o^

Wow, 200 apm with a touchpad. Sounds impossible though. Winning with a touchpads sounds impossible too, unless you're bashing on some D- noobs.

This may be an interesting way to better your macro, since it would be tough as nails to macro with the mouse (clicking each factory/rax) so it's probably easier to 4m5m6m7m7e8e9e or something

Wow that's actually really impressive. I always attach a mouse to my laptop, so my touch-pad skills are almost non-existent.

My APM was 55 and 68 when playing against a computer, and then a newbie friend, respectively. I won both games, but seriously, I could never win a game on iccup with my touchpad. It can take me 10 seconds just to select one building, and the only reason I can macro is the keyboard.

omg PLEASE post a video of yourself playing with a touchpad. i can't imagine it.
i need 2 hands to use the touchpad on my laptop how can you use hotkeys and stuff then and get this high apm (I have 130 apm and im C+ish)

Yea, I've ended up either actually having good building placement for once (lol) so I can f2 the cluster of unit producing buildings, or using 5-8 for barracks.

Hmm I don't have a vid cam, but I guess I could record fpvod of a game. What's a good freely available software for such a purpose?

Well, usually 40-50% of my apm is hotkeys, with average around 44-45%. It's just the way I play I guess =/

So what? That doesn't mean anything for christ's sake. I have aroun 120 apm with protoss (which is my main) and about 150 apm with Terran, which I play A LOT less. Having more apm with terran just comes natural. So being able to be 130 amp C+ could mean that he would be 160+- apm with Terran at C+, which is not really that bad/"imbalanced".

Over 150 Apm with a touchpad. You're hotkey setup must work very well for you.

I had a mouse at the LAN, I just never bring it around with me is all.

Two different issues. Laptop keyboards for most people are harder to use. However, even with another nice computer keyboard, I know I'll have trouble getting used to it.

Definitely make an FPVOD of this. Camtasia has a free trial and I think you can use hypercam indefinitely but it watermarks your videos.

It's cause my strategy/game sense are shit. No matter how much apm you have, you still get fucked when you forget to defend against doom drops -.-
Or try pure mnm vs shitton of lurkers (unless you pro as heck, which I'm not)

So yea. I tend to build the wrong things. At the wrong times. Thus my rank. =(
PS: TvZ really doesn't require much micro at D rank. Not if your macro is decent.
PPS: And I am also really really inconsistent. I really don't know why, and have tried to fix it for a while now, but it remains =/

I played one game against a friend on a touchpad. My apm was surprisingly good, but my wrists hurt like crazy after one game.
