Alright, here's the story. I have 50 dollars in my pocket ready to be wasted on a game. I was going to buy WAR(warhammer online) but the motherfucker at gamestop said he had no time cards for it.
Fuck, what's the point of buying the game if I won't be able to play it? I don't have a credit card so time cards are my only viable option. Which is why I come to you.
Can you recommend me a game, more like an mmorpg that you like. I know the options are few and some of you will say WOW but please, no WOW.
I just need something that will keep me hooked for the next few months. Im waiting for starcraft 2,guildwars 2, and bioshock 2 and I was planning to play WAR until that time.
Thanks for the help and please, I need to waste these 50 dollars lol.

Do NOT, for the love of GOD, buy WAR. NEVER. EVER. EVER.
My friend wasted 80 bucks on it and he CRIED because he said it was by far the shittiest game on earth. People had no idea how to play their class properly (Hmm, Mages trying to kill people with melee in a battlefield? Genius!) and the game patches every day.
There's no evil satisfaction from killing lowbies because you become a chicken if you do. There's no satisfaction of going into a battleground at level x9 and killing level x0 because they buff the x0's stats to ABOVE your level to make it "fair".
If you HAVE to play an MMO but can't stand WoW, go play some cheesy Korean MMO, there's tons of them.

Diablo II then.

If you're looking for an MMO play UO or Ragnarok, both far better than new-age MMO's in my opinion. Far more manly in terms of difficulty, that's for sure. Although... Ragnarok won't solve your $50 problem, because it's free to play now.

I don't think you can argue for WAR being even close to a better game than WOW, what's wrong with WOW?
Fallout 3 is probably the best choice possible right now.

|
Fallout 3 Red Alert 3 Gears of War 1/2 Guild Wars 1 Ultima Online (best mmo imo) Mass Effect
Really what are you looking for? Theres a good number of decent (read: decent) games that have come out in the past year.

Here's where I will once again throw down for TES III Morrowind. That game wil keep you occupied for so long! Plus it's so abusable that you will just be like "fuck yeah! I killed an Ordinator and used its armor to buy hella stat point increase!"

The Left 4 Dead demo has gotten great reviews, though I couldn't play it myself since I had no time during the demo period (but I had it downloaded T.T). Fallout 3 is brilliant. If you haven't tried 1 and 2, you could try picking them up. The Fallout series will last you a long time, trust me. Call of Duty 5 if you like FPS.

If you just want to kill some time I suggest Gears of war 2. Play horde mode with a pal, you can seriously just grind that shit for hours upon hours.

Try Requiem: Bloodymare. It's free. For me, I didn't like it though because Starcraft is much more manly to play.

buy Left 4 Dead on steam. No need to go to the store, but you do need to download it, and depending where you live, you might NOT need to pay for tax. I bought the game for $45 when I pre-ordered, guess what, the game came out today. So far, it has been getting good review like a 9.0 on ign.

Alright that's some feedback that I have to consider, but, the game has over 800k players in like two months I believe. Now that could be the warhammer fan base or it's just that the game is good.
Also, are those korean mmo's like cash shop mmos? Because if it is, that's pretty much the shittiest mmos ever. Games like maplestory, perfectworld, ace online, warrock, all those faggety games don't depend on skill but rather on how much you waste on the cash shop items which give an unfair advantage.
So yeah, thanks.
Somebody mentioned these games and I pretty much have played or have not because I can't.
edit:Fallout 3-have it,playing it. Red Alert 3-I'll consider playing it. Gears of War 1/2-don't have a 360(yeah i know, pretty gay) Guild Wars 1(not interested) Ultima Online (best mmo imo)-I'll try this though but I hope it's not cash shop shit. Mass Effect-(I have it)

What's wrong with WOW? Well I have seen what it does to adolescents. Yes some of my friends are obsessed as fuck and think only of that. Hence they look like this.

In all seriousness though, I don't really want to spend more than 5 hours on a game. Don't say you can play less and not get obsessed because it will happen to me. Who's to say I wouldn't get obsessed with WAR. Well nothing except that if i did, I wouldn't want it to be WOW. Lol.
Edit: I'll probably just play starcraft lol until all the games that I want come out.

alundra 1 for ps1
a zelda clone that in my opinion is on par or even better than the 2d zeldas, beautiful 32-bit graphics, emphasis on puzzles over action. Story is darker, better than overused save princess beat up ganon. I would explain it to you but it would seem lame but not quite so when you play it.
Some Puzzles are extremely difficult. If you beat all of them without a guide.. you are a true video game baller. It is greatly satisfying however.
really good music (one funny track). The best MIDI's I've heard since games like Chrono Trigger
Edit: It is rare, but goes for about 30$ on EBAY. You could also do:
