1. portable fan heater is for your BEDROOM , waaay too much effort to unplug it and bring it to the bathroom then have to go and get it again later, plus u cant use it in ur bedroom until u'v dried urself off abit due to danger
Effort? It takes like 5 seconds to unplug it and carry it into the bathroom for me.... and another 5 seconds to go back. Honestly not a big deal. Also, I dry myself off like 90%+ before I leave the bathroom

2. i have gas central heating , radiators on in bedroom and bathroom only. make sure bathroom door is always closed.

3. depends on your timing......if you really want u can go straight back to ur bedroom and cover urself up with ur duvet while u browse TL, it'll dry by tonight or if it doesn't who cares, a job took priority

4. 20 quick press-ups..... this will solve any heat problems u have straight away!!!

I always leave the door closed 100% regardless XD.

15 seconds each way for me. but it is an effort. oh plus theres no plugpoint/id find it too much of a hazard if there was probably.

whoever said turning up the water heat? u shud turn it down, otherwise the difference between your local heat and the room heat is a large difference, therefore you'll feel even colder. i have warm showers anyway, very sensitive to hotness.

you can sit on the toilet for a while and leave the hot shower water running while you have a cigarette, that works somewhat.

Does it really take 5 minutes to dry yourself? I couldn't imagine taking more than half a minute.

Maybe I'm underestimating the amount of time it takes you lift your fat folds though.

I always shower with cold water for a short time (5 sec.~) just before I leave. works for me!

Well between body, hair, and then warming up after not being wet anymore... it takes much longer than 30 seconds.

edit: and the random fat bashing (not that it is relevant) isn't really appreciated in this blog.

Well it was obviously a joke, but I guess some people aren't comfortable enough with their body to poke fun at it.

I'm also not tall and have very little hair, so that's probably why it doesn't take me a long time.

And I don't have a 15 inch penis to dry.

Sorry but your implications here are wrong, and you cannot justify what you said earlier. There are thousands of legitimate ways to poke fun at others and get away with it, and this isn't one of them.

Also you just implied that I must be fat in order for me to be insecure enough to call you out on saying it... which doesn't pan out since I'm not fat.

My bathroom is pretty average size so I just dry off in the shower then run into my bedroom and lay underneath my blankets until like 2 min before I have to leave then I scramble and get my shit and bounce.

It was obviously not intended to be malicious. I don't know why you're so offended by a fat joke, if it's not funny then you can just ignore it.

What makes a fat joke unacceptable?

Disclaimer: I'm a Canadian who lives in Winnipeg (Winterpeg). It gets to -30C (-22F) at least without windchill here.

First of all, it depends how well your house is insulated. When I was in Australia no one had insulation so their "cold weather" (8C) made the bathrooms really quite cold. I'll just assume everyone's cold is pretty much the same.

What I do is get all my clothing ready before I have a shower. I put it in the bathroom near the shower. I hang a towel over the shower curtain/wall. When my shower is done I grab my towel and remove all the water off my body asap, starting with my chest then arms and legs and then my hair. It helps to remove excess water off your head at this point because that's where you lose the most body heat and you can blow dry it after.

Then, you get out of the shower and dress yourself immediately. I normally just toss on some pants. Blow dry your hair and you should be fine.

Edit: Typo

My bathroom is decent sized and all I do if I take a shower in the morning is, I leave the shower on when I get out of the shower and dry myself. The shower on will still produce the steam and heat that will keep you warm even when your out of the water.

Yes I did mention in the OP that I've tried this, but I find it's got a few disadvantages.

Agreed, what's the big deal.

So you're cold for like 30 seconds.

It's definitely not worth buying a space heater for 30 seconds of not being cold. Even if I already had a space heater it wouldn't be worth bringing it into the bathroom, bringing it out afterward, and the risk of having it on in there just to not be slightly cold for 30 seconds.

Being cold really isn't that big of a deal unless it's either for a long period of time or when you're trying to use your fingers, like when playing starcraft or music.

Maybe you have a warm bathroom. Mine definitely isn't as cold as some people in this thread (Canada with little to no heat = nothx) but I know from experience that when you get out of the shower, if the temperature is say 65F or below, you are going to be uncomfortable for more than 30 seconds. It's not TERRIBLE, and I'm not advocating going out and spending money just for this problem, but I do it every time because I already have a space heater, and it definitely feels worth the inconvenience of simply carrying it in and out of the bathroom.

It's just how you go about it. I told someone today (one of the fansubbers of naruto/bleach actually lol) that she's fat, but I did it in such a way that it wasn't offensive, dumb, or completely pointless.

Again I'm not offended by you making fun of fat people, and you even admit that's not what your goals was.

Im from Canada as well (Alberta) and we get to minus forty from time to time, and I guess because i've grown up in that atmosphere, cold air doesn't bother me. A few minutes of being cold actually feels good when I get out of the shower. I find that sometimes the heat makes me really sleepy after work, and getting a nice shot of cold air as soon as I step out, is enjoyable.
