Does anyone play SC on iccup with music? Does it help with like the rhythem of the game at all? or is it just preference? Like I often close the SC Music, so i only hear the units voice when i click on them. However i've heard that some people actually listen to stuff from their itune or windows media player... <-- I'm not sure how that really works if anyone want to explain to me, doesn't it interfere with the sounds in SC? Like then you can't properly hear "your base is under attacked" or "need additional pylons"?

I tried it but I don't find it making a difference. By the time your first expansion goes up, you wouldn't even notice the music.

I turn the music off keep unit music on. I find it less distracting...

I always listen to music when I play unless I'm playing a team game and need to be on ventrilo.

Whenever a really epic song comes on my apm goes up

I play with music about 80% of the time, I find it encourages me to play better and I tend to watch the minimap for pings from the computer. However it does sometimes cause me to slip up but I think that the music causing me to enjoy the game more is worth the occasional mistake.

You should'nt need the ingame sounds to notice something anyway, always keep an eye on the minimap. Someone on this forum mentioned to turn off the sounds to look even more on the minimap, because its faster when you react as soon as you see the red dot than to react when your units are allready under attack.

My brain doesn't even register the BW sounds anymore, it's been way overexposed to them lol. So playing with music is no problem for me .

I play with music all the time, infact I plat alot worse if I only have the sc sounds on. If your playing with music on it forces you to relay on the minimap more and you become more aware of whats going on. Also fast paced music helps me play faster. That's just me though.

I have the SC music running all the time but I also listen to music via Winamp.

I turn the Winamp music off after like my first two buildings are built because I don't need to be that concentrated in the beginning of a game.

I listen to stuff with solid beats when I play and I get into a groove. I've used music for sooo long without it I play a lot worse. Beside from playing though I don't really like music that much.

OH yeah i ALWAYS play with rock music, it pumps me up big time. also it's really cool when there's a big fight about to happen, and some awesome beat starts playing =O

edit: I'm also not sure what it means if I find sc boring without music. Maybe it means I don't like playing SC anymore, I just like playing with the music.. haha

You can have say, winamp, running in the background no problem. Just calibrate your winamp volume so it doesn't completely drown out your sc sfx and you shouldn't have a problem. Turn off sc music if you are doing this though.

Music without lyrics, simple guitar rifts like some eric johnson songs.

Don't really play with music most of the time though, it does take some time off from my attention span.

I sometimes play music when working or playing sc, but not too loud. If I can hear it, I know my concentration is slipping.

I have to have some ambiance at least. Just sound effects is too quiet for me, having music on (Regardless of the track) keeps me on my toes.

I feel like having music while laddering is a must for me or I get bored rather quickly. When I have important matches (be it grudge on a ladder, a BoX, CW, NW, etc.) I switch music off 99% of the time.
