Only the greatest sport ever. Had a tournament on Saturday and we finished 7th which we considered a success.

L11-9 vs #1 seed, UMass
L13-12 vs #6 seed, Bryant
W13-4 vs #12 seed, NEC

5th place bracket
L11-9 vs Bryant

7th place match
W13-6 vs #2 seed, forgot who we played

I love ultimate with all my heart! <3 Unfortunately, I fucked up my knee towards the end of the second game. Poaching in the endzone and went for the all out d. Unfortunately, landed with all my weight on my right knee which ended my day. Now its all swollen and can't put too much weight on it.

Share your great ultimate stories. And not just casually playing disc. Legit ultimate. <3

Hey I'm just starting ultimate this year; played it occasionally with friends in HS but I'm on my school's ultimate team now. I'm pretty bad but it's fun.

What tournament did you go to?

Ultimate Frisbee is so awesome, me and my friends always play it
The thing is, it requires so much athletism, because of how quick you have to run, and endure for a duration of the game
All I remember is the times I just booked it to teh frisbee so far away from me, and I actually caught it, Great moments in winning frisbee matches
Good times
Dea : one time when he was playing vs the comps he asked me "how do I make that flying unit that makes the other stuff invisible" and I reply "ur playing terran zomg"

Was a tournament at Bryant University.

If you plan on playing in university, please learn how to throw forehand (flick) and not just backhand.

Man. Frisbee. Such great memories. This past summer, before we all went off to college, my friend organized games of night frisbee where we would all pitch in for a bunch of glowsticks (he had his own light-up disc). We played like 4 or 5 times and it was the highlight of my summer. It was a mix of good and not so great ppl, but the games were always really close and really intense.

Oh man, I feel you on the Ultimate love. I got to college in the fall of '03 and I've been playing ever since. The highlight of our team (in my opinion) was beating Western Washington's B team. I realize that might not sound impressive, but we sucked something fierce, and WWU has a good 10x the student body we do. Funny thing about learning how to throw: after about two years, I noticed that my forehand is far better--faster and more accurate--than my backhand. Go figure.

Ultimate is such an awesome sport. I got into it last year just throwing a frisbee around with some friends and now I'm president of the club at our school with over 90 people in it...not bad for a <500 person school! We used to play everyday at lunch but we're currently on hiatus from that since football started. I'm really excited about playing in college since my main two options right now are UF and UCF, each with some pretty respectable ultimate teams, especially florida!

That makes a lot of sense that your forehand is better. You're supposed to always force forehand when you're marking. Though my backhand is still far more accurate. I can't huck it on a flick but I can hammer huck it -_-;;.

I'm pretty jealous of that ability. Suffice it to say my hammer is absolute rubbish. I can get it maybe a quarter to half the field and that's it. I usually either wind up throwing it way too high or blading the damn thing. It's not a throw I use often. Thankfully, since I usually wind up as a handler, I can rely on a very good forehand and decent enough backhand to get by. My ultimate goal is to one day throw a forehand between my legs and through the legs of the guy defending me. I've managed it while just messing around in practice, but I've never attempted it in a game. The possibility of nailing some dude in the junk keeps me from trying .

I play over the summer sometimes, I can jump and catch it pretty well but I suck at throwing frisbees, so if I do catch it and there's no one close to me I'm pretty much screwed, lol.

But yeah it really does test your endurance cause it's nonstop running. It's a really good game to play if you're in Cross Country or something.

Oh yeah I can throw and catch fine. It's all the team strategy that kind of overwhelmed me, but I'm picking it pretty fast.
