The life of a procrastinator:
I've been meaning to mass game for weeks. Hell, I've been meaning to play for weeks. I don't want to play and only get two games in. How will I learn? So I look for an opportunity where I can put a few hours into Starcraft.
Perhaps Saturday, I thought, would be that perfect day. Unfortunately, I woke up a bit late, and by the time I got through lunch and my daily minimum of 30 minute TL run, my parents got home and I had to shop for a winter coat- which took five hours. By the time I arrived home, ate dinner, settled in, placated my family with various social activities and chores, it was almost midnight.
Which as we all know, means the Koreans have awakened. Given that I'm a d-, that just 'so happens' to coincide with me being raped, and possibly losing a game without killing a single enemy unit.
So perhaps Sunday? No, Scar Face, No- Sunday is your thanksgiving. Free time is simply unimaginable on such a holiday. I woke up, and showered. Ate lunch. I then had to clean the house [for family will be arriving], extend the drive way with my father, mow the lawn, clean the garage, and of course, eat dinner with the family. By the time that was over, I was distracted by reading Hot Bids amazing FE about the Zerg throne.
This happened to get me pumped. Finally, I was ready for some Starcraft! Who could stand in my way? Who? Oh wait...once again, its nearly midnight, which means, once again- the koreans shall stand in my way. Beyond that I will get owned by them and run away crying in a few hours, there's very little [read: none] games even on the D level, let alone the D- level.
Perhaps Monday?

this exact dilema has been an on-going thing for me for the last.. 3 months?
basicaly i only see friends two days a week now, and on those 2 days I get really fucking drunk. =]

I share your frustration. Since hitting university, a career, and this weird growth on my hip people seem to keep referring to as a fiance, I find it increasingly hard to get a good session in. Damn this cruel world.

Ok. You get up, you don't shower, you don't brush your teeth, you don't eat breakfast. You just get up, take a seat at our comp, and start playing. Lock the door and tell ur parents you are studying. Put up a book on the table and alt tab fast so it looks like ur studying if they walk in.
If you don't want life to interfere, that is the way to do it.

That sucks dude. Perhaps this is just not your weekend. There are always more weekends ahead of you! I pretty much gave up playing competitively [not like I really did] but I just don't enough practice time to do so. I just see myself watching VODs than actually playing XD

You can play at midnight- Just wait until the end of the season so that the rankings have settled down a bit.
Starcraft is a journey, not a destination.

maybe perhaps the korean iccup time could be changed to "sc learning" or something. it's still sc, just at a different time of the day (when the "monsters" are out to destroy)

I'm the same way, actually.
Been wanting to start playing some StarCraft again the last few weeks. Haven't really accomplished much of it. Planned on working my way up (campaign, computer vs. matches, player matches), as now I'm probably(definitely) abysmal.

If you can only get 2 games in, play 2 games
dodging is not going to make you better
if you can only play koreans, play koreans. You're going to improve much faster playing better opponents

just play them..every game helps and who knows you might beat a bad korean every once in awhile

i have the exact same problem. then whenever i do have time to play a few games i get scared of losing and practice mechanics vs racine AI.

I've been having the same problem. Dragged on for like 5-6 months, me wanting to play and getting like 25 games in on one day but then... that's it, no more. It's like suddenly, life wants you to do something(why didn't life do that when I wasted like 2 years of my life playing everyday like before XD).

Don't you have Monday (today) off for Thanksgiving too? If you celebrated Thanksgiving on Sunday you should have lots of time today.

There's no reason to be scared of the koreans, the average korean gamers are not really any better than your average European or American player. And even if you can only play 2 games just play them anyway its better than nothing.
