It's not about being a dick. It's about him doing something funny. There are two types of laughing at someone. The first type is when you laugh and someone and want them to feel terrible in the process. The other type is where you give them a hard time, but are still friends at the end of the day. This is the latter.
Your example is terrible though (I wonder which type of laughing at you this will be interpreted as)
I'm not trying to hide this from Duke or anything. I don't think he would take it the wrong way.
