Okay. Need a little help here. I'm currently running windows XP SP3 on my macbook pro via boot camp, and I've run across two problems with starcraft.

1) I have to press the "fn" key in order to use the F-key hotkeys, or else it'll just do the hardware functions (brightness and volume, etc.) How do I reverse that in windows?

2) Starcraft runs stretched. Like, regular aspect ratio on starcraft is 3:4, but it stretches it to fit my 16:10 laptop monitor. How do i fix that?

The aspect ratio i can honestly live with, but it's annoying. The f-keys, however, i can't play without. Kinda important. I'd appreciate any help you guys have if you've run across this problem before.

1) use a USB keyboard
2) look in your video card settings (for me, I go into Nvidia Control Panel to fix this. I have a 8600GT in my laptop. Your results may vary)

Okay, fixed the graphics setting. You were right, it was in the nvidia control panel under "change flat panel scaling." it was set to "Use NVIDIA scaling" and i changed it to "Use NVIDIA scaling with fixed-aspect ratio" gg.

I would rather avoid using an external keyboard mostly for redundancy reasons. Why should I have to buy an external keyboard when i *should* be able to use my regular keyboard. My friend's computer is set so the fn key doesn't have to be pressed in starcraft, so i know it's possible.

*sigh* this is a problem with a five-minute fix that's taking me days to figure out. The ironic part is, on the mac side, I know exactly which checkbox in System Preferences fixes this. but i can't play ICCup on OS X. >< </rant>

hah i hate that, my laptop has some hidden functio with the fn key, and if i click something by mistake while the fn is held down(i have yet to discover wtf the issue is/was) and "a" will be auto-capped to "A" but if you put on caps lock the A remains that way, and if i use shift, it turns into some random key or w/e. its retarded.

I don't specifically own a Mac, but the internet tells me it's something in boot camp menu.
I searched a bit and stumbled upon these:

If you disable the Apple Keyboard Support driver in Windows, Windows will not recognize extended Function keys, nor the (Fn) key./HT1220

or this little temporary utility which locks fn (dunno if it works though

YES!!! That fixed it. Looks like it's a problem with apple and their boot camp driver. Hopefully they'll patch it, but this'll do just fine until then. Thanks!
