Ankel support of roller skates/ blades is a key factor in them being cool.

If you dont know how to use one already, it will take you awhile to get the hang of it and skateboards + campus would be a massive pain in the ass (atleast mine where it's you know... not a concrete desert of smooth road =\. There are bumps and shit dude) So somehow these bumps magically disappear while on skates or a bike? Tell me more... Also, riding a skateboard is so fucking easy it is not even funny. My three year old cousin rides mine which is taller than him, if you can't figure out a skateboard you probably shouldn't be in college, if I were you I would seriously evaluate my life and start hating on things that actually matter, and things that make sense...

But if you have a campus thats mostly flat and smooth, and you wont have to get off the board to go up a sidewalk (or even down if you really dont know how to ride a board) then it could be worth it. If you have to get off and pick it up to move over small bumps and shit though, not only will you look foolish but itll also take more time than just walking. Edit - and to the post above me... hes saying itll be harder to ride a board if the street isnt flat and smooth, so you misunderstood what he was saying

A bike wheel is over 10 times the size of a skateboard wheel by diameter, it's pretty obvious why a bike would handle rough terrain better. It's also clearly faster.
