Me and five friends are going! We are living at a hostel, about a 30 minute _walk_ to Kölnmaesse!
So uhm, meet up is a YES PLS!
|
I was not planning to go, but if there is people to hang out with, and a free place to stay, i might give a closer look to those train tickets.
And Cologne is not that far away from France, should be affordable ^^'

Looks like the player village are youth hostels lol. That shit certainly has gone downhill.

I think I'll be there, no guarantees, though

I'm coming :D, btw anyone leaving near Koln, do you know which Saturn/shop might be selling tickets, cause I think one of them is selling tickets and my german isn't good at all so... I asked the Saturn in Hurth but the guy had no idea what he was talking about because he told me WCG was next year, probably referring to wcg germany =p

I think you can buy tickets right at WCG. If we meet beforehand I'll help you getting tickets.. since my German is good! LOL (hint: watch my country;

Don't think there's any big hotels in Cologne that could fit all the people!
Last year's hotel was really nice! Seems WCG have cut down their budget quite a lot of they prefer people to stay in a hostel rather than a hotel!
|
Will be there too and shave Scott :D
|
I'll be there to explore the german beer culture a bit more ... a bit

Could have something to do with the costs. Europe is very expensive., 700 people plus maybe about 30-40 referees. Lets say 2 to a room.
370 x 200 euro a night. And they pretty much pay 4th-8th for all with the addition of 3rd and 9th for refs.
You're looking at 300-400,000euro. Not to mention, breakfast lunch and dinner they provide, just to begin. I dare say it is a lot more expensive than Seattle or Singapore.
|
Btw Elsi, what game are you a ref for?

200€ / night? What.. if you're unlucky and have a good hotel its maybe 120 a night.. They won't book 5 star luxus super hotels T_T
|
I'll have to check costs in Cologne, I was going by hotel costs in Amsterdam as we are staying there a few days prior to WCG.

How many persons are in that room? 200€ for a 2 bed room seems WAAAAAAAAAY too much.

4-5 star hotels in amsterdam cost like 140-160 euros per night for 2 people >.> and that's like the top hotels, you should be able to find lots cheaper, energies!
|
In that case online prices are off the charts for hotels in Amsterdam. Regardless Dknight and I are staying with the Head Admin from WGTour. Erkenbrand, so it will cost $0.00. Figured we just take him out to dinner to say thanks.
And he can spoon Dknight if he wants to.

PGR4
Was referee last year for PGR3 along with PR!
I think we spoke a little last year regarding flights^^
your flight took about 36 hours or something crazy from aus^^
|
So, I just saw that they announced the tickets.
Judging by the info they won't sell em' at the entrance? :O
|
You can buy tickets at saturn (like best buy) or order them online, 1 day 7.50euro 4days 26euro. But I'm sure you will be able to buy them at the entrance, too. They also offer buses from all major german cities to Koeln.
