My memory went back, good old times. When I was like 6 years old, we got our first PC. Thats basically when everything started out. First games where Pacman, Pango, Q-bert. I remember playing those games endlessly. Tho, I had to share the computer with my brothers, and limited gaming time of 2 hours each week. Tho sometimes I pretended to do somthing else, like "learning english" or "exploring tecnology" were normal acceptable excuses to play abit more. Hard to hide it, no alt-tab in DOS I remember our favorite game, the strategy game Civilization 1. I was too young back then to even understand it, but the funny thing is, it was our favorite game. Build bases, move units around and attack. Totally ownage. The best thing was to find out new tricks, to get lucky (cuz didnt know how to advance in tech) and get some sick tech from a hut. It was like an exploring ground. Other games were Test Drive 1 and 2(epic with colors!! haha) and we even heard rumours from our neigbouhr that in Test Drive 3 you were able to reverse!! OMG! and even drive off the road! Blew my mind. The rules of playing PC back then, was to do it early in the moring and after feeding our pets(rabbits and chickens). I remember that I couldnt wait until monday morning (2 new hours!! FINALLY!) and I werent allowed to get up earlier than 4.30am. But man I was eagier, so I couldnt sleep once, and I was walking back and forth the bed at night to look at the big watch in the kitchen, SOOON, ohh damn time went sooo slowly. So I decided, its soon, lets go. So I woke up, went to the living room, turned on ALL the lights, turn the PC on, and straight into playing Pacman. MORNING has come! Then 5 mins later mum comes into the room and looks confused, and ask me what the hell im doing up at 2.30 in the middle of the night. Man was I screwed, no games for a week
And then the day came, when we got The Secret of Monkey Island. That was trully somthing amazing, and the "learn english" part made it even easier to find excuses to play it. I so remember getting a boner from the scene with Guybrush and Elaine at the docks. It was trully a epic part of my childhood. DOS advanced to windows, everything was new. New games entered the scene. Stunts, Sam1 and 2 were epic epic, and a game called Dave. Rooms even, adventure games were so thrilling. Keen 1 and 2, good times. So two of my brothers got new PC, NHL 97, Red Alert, Dune 2000. And they knew how to get the advantage. 5kroner(1 dollar) each half hour played. They got rich doing that business, me and my little brother played like forever spening all our weekly money on it lol. Championship Manager 95/96 is the only football game I played activly. That was epic. Getting John Lennon, Peter Smith for cheap to Liverpool. Winning PL and Eurocup for the first time with 3-5-3, offensive midfield, strong defense players. Death Rally, one epic epic game, prolly best racing game I ever played, just killing your opponements, plant mines and poof, advance in ranks to destroy mr legend. SNES came in after a period, playing pokemon on PC instead of gameboy was way more advanced. And to turn up the speed, gameboy is so fucking slow lol. More epic games back in the days were, Princess Maker 2, The lost vikings, Zac, DSJ, Fallout 1, Age of Empires, Warcraft 2.
AND then the most epic moment of HISTORY, I discovered STARCRAFT! OMG. Wasnt before 2001 ( Campagns were awsome, story awsome, gameplay awsome. My thirst for games were OVER. Screw limited game-time. I discovered Battle.net, and I played constantly for a week when my elder brother was away for a trip. I was 14 and didnt have my own comp yet, that could actually run Starcraft. So I had to wait, not play until I had money. (damn I hate my brother now ) I got my own comp after awhile, started WoW (unfortanetly), played that back and forth since 2005. So I'm 21, time runs by wayy to fast. And no epic games around anymore(except Starcraft ofc), oddly enough

Lost Vikings, AoE, WC2 = win.
MONKEY ISLAND! I am playing through the second one again, good memories. I have it as my desktop too lol.
ye 2nd is even more epic. If your havent tried the 3rd, thats so sooo GOOD. Change of graphics, yes, but with sound they do it so cool.
I beat the third, I didn't like it as much as the first 2 but it was still good. 4th... Kinda sucked IMO.
Another really good old DOS game was Rise of the Dragon. I'm actually re-downloading it, along with Monkey Island... Your blog makes me want to play those again haha.
The original Prince of Persia and Cavemen (action game?) in DOS are the ones I used to play when I was a kid.
There are a lot of random stuff too, but nothing worth mentioning.
Ye, I forgot prince of persia! not to mention Settlers 1 and 2. Even 3 when it came. Settlers 2 was epic, I have even played it recently trought one time. Wierd how it isnt boring. fanatacist, agree 4th sucked hard.

ahh yes.. i remember my first computer. no one knew jack shit about computers in my family so we had someone else set it up for us. i remember playing wc2 all day (still have it). later we upgraded(lol) to a windows 95 and i discovered Red Alert. that shit was amazing. then of course, in 5th grade i was introduced to starcraft. my life was never the same.

got a sega genesis when I was 5, first game was the lion king :D actually quite hard for being a childrens game... Chip's Challenge, Jezzball, and some version of Tetris were my first PC games, ran beautifully on Windows 3.11! I eventually found stuff like Doom, Duke Nukem, and CHEX MOTHERFUCKING QUEST then my friend got a gameboy with mario so i wanted one and got pokemon :D
got an N64 with Pokemon Snap and Zelda 64. awesome times were had. eventually stumbled onto StarCraft 64 and moved onto the PC from there, where I play SC, CS1.6, and WoW - and of course any worthwhile rpg that comes out. pretty well-rounded I guess!
Settlers was awesome. Colonization was pretty good if you didn't have Civilization. PoP (Prince of Persia) original was hard as FUCK.
Red Alert was the fucking sex, that and WC2 got me into RTSes.
Anyone ever play Carmageddon? Most badass driving game of all time.

wow someone finally with similar experience! i started playing on something named "zx spectrum", still dont know what to call it, probably it was a computer after all, just had to hook it up to the TV. Anyoen played Saboteur??? Cyclone??? Double dragon, Earth Shaker, just wow.. I remember playing arkanoid and making it to level 98 or something and we had to leave somewhere. And my dad stands right there and me and my bro screaming literally crying begging to not shut it off. I think for a moment my dad wasn't confident, but we ended up going. Trauma. damn some games were amazing, but computer ones owned all. Supaplex? Flashback!?!!? Dangerous Dave yes was amazing. Keen, Myth, Goblins??? I loved Goblins, i think they came out even before monkey island - EPIC game. EPIC. Alone in the dark, UFO, X-COM, Dune/Dune2, Civilization, etc etc etc waking up EARLY in the morning to play Wolfenstein was amazing we used to buy those CDs with hundred(s) games on them for like 5-10$( when CDs came around). Floppies used to be hilarious( needed 24 of them to install Comanche LOL!) I played everything that was coming out.. Games used to be well thought out too, every one was an experience in itself. I'm not even going to get into relatively recent era( Doom, C&C, Outpost, Z etc) just bcause i will be typing for couple hours edit: I LOVED THOSE DAYS WHEN I USED TO PLAY MORE THEN 1 GAME.
haha i remember playing age of empires and being like retarded because i was so young. play the computer and they would kill me with 2nd age bowman and i was sstill in stone age and be totally confused. then when my dad would come home i would tell him about the new units we discovered.
Double Dragon was the shit.
Z omg Z was THE SHIT. Same with Wolfenstein. Man games were so good back then, just because they were simple and it was all under your control, no complex shit or storylines getting in the way.
AoE - did anyone else try to save every class of warrior? I used to keep a stone age warrior in the corner, a bronze age warrior, etc. all there as like a history exhibit and be like "THIS GUY HAS BEEN A WARRIOR FOR 1000 YEARS AND HE STILL HAS HIS STONE HAMMER, WHAT A BEAST!" Ahahaha man those were the days.
rofl HAHA dude, thats cool, never did that in AoE. But I remembr when i played Civilization and my militia (with stonehammer, first unit you get) massing up with those and attacking enemys with armored tanks, and one gaining a lucky kill. That was like hero Milita, after that he was like the hero of the game.
Haha I always got Leonardo's Workshop in Civ (it was my like main priority) so I'd always end up raping because I made shitty soldiers in large numbers and then they all get upgraded to Musketmen and I march out and rape the shit out of stuff.
on Nintedo Super Mario Bros x), F-Zero (futuristic races); on my friend's Sega some Jurassic Park and kind of FPS fighter jet game I can't remember name of
