Ok teamliquid.net, I write this today in order to ask you, the people of teamliquid, to be the jury of this following story.
Today at work (restaurant) I came in as usual wearing the same clothes as I usually do and doing the same good job I usually do. That is until a new manager at work who usually jokes and says sarcastic remarks to me ask me about my belt I am wearing. The issue was that it was brown instead of black and I usually wear it all the time I go to work and no managers ever say anything etc. So she goes on and I immediately think shes joking with me. (She always teases me about things jokingly at work and laughs with me to verify we are joking.) I begin to walk away saying "Haha, I'm not going to fall for that", she then says, "you aren't wearing proper uniform so I am going to send you home." (still like she would usually talk when we are joking). Taking this as the continued joke I begin to walk away thinking there are more tables that need to be done and then all of a sudden she immediately raises her voice and screams "don't walk away from me!". At this point i'm like wow SHE IS FOR REAL. So I'm standing there while the whole kitchen is staring wide eyed at her as she tells me to follow me to her office and proceeds to write me up. Now please understand I am very polite to everyone at work and everyone thinks I am a good worker (they tell me every day i work). I understand that she should be mad if we never talked and didn't have sarcastic conversations every time we run into each other but wtf.
Edit: I did say sorry for offending her immediately afterwards but she still wrote me up.

What a fucking psycho-bitch. You should quit your job and humiliate her in front of the other kitchen staff while you resign. If quitting is not an option, you just have to act the nice guy. Have a quiet chat with her asap. Explain to her you thought it was all a jest, you are sorry etc. Otherwise she sounds like the type of whore that will torture you while you work if she has a grudge.

fuck that shit. i had a similar experience with one of my previous bosses. if you let them get away with that kind of shit repeatedly just because they're not in a good mood, then they'll keep it up. tell her respectfully that the way she treated you was unacceptable.

hahaha fucking woman. Someone probably belittled her and now she is taking it out on who ever she can. Just talk to the other managers or owner and explain the situation. Something tells me when she says "I asked him twice calmly," other managers aren't going to see it his way. It was miscommunication too, which is I why I have sympathy for him, but saying "don't stand for that shit," is like... Well it's retarded. What exactly is he gonna do? write ups are nothing, who cares. she was probably on the rag. managers will never fire you if business is good. so you can be the shittiest mofo there and still have a job if the resturant is busy. however, no matter how great you are and business is slow. find another job.

Ya I really didn't want to apologize because I didn't think I needed to but I really need to keep this job atm (at least until I find a better one) and I was hoping she had seen that I didn't mean anything by it and simultaneously seen how irrational she had acted.

Don't knuckle under to her. To best preserve your relationshipw ith her, I think you should talk to her. Tell her straight up that you don't appreciate being treated that way, that belt color doesn't have anything to do with how well your working or presenting a professional facade, and that you aren't going to work under the burden of her whims (do this all nicely of course). If she responds badly to that, then I would talk to her superiors (assuming you know them already, and complaining about her won't have you come off as a spoiled brat).
If all else fails, you really should quit. Working for a petty tyrant like that isn't worth it.
