A lot of TL were sucked in (maybe just me) because someone said that it wasn't all that time consuming.

Boy were we lied to... Ugh, quit after a month?? maybe less lol.

Used to completely and utterly own http://www.tribalwars.net/ but lvling >200pt villages killed the fun of it, at least when there's 50 of them you've gotta manually transfer resources to and order production in. Played with a load of friends and dominated K44 though, made it quite fun for a while, warring turkish & persian tribes. Good times, nothing like launching a perfectly timed assault with four nobles hitting just a second after your main forces.

oh god not this game
i was teuton, did well for the first month (my swingerclub army was inching up to rival kazansky's

and i had sick amount of catas)
then it got wayy too much (at least like 1-2 hours a day to keep raiding wtf. the time isn't the problem, it's that you have to fuck up your sleep schedule. i was waking up at 5am to raid my farms before kaz gets to them..)
i had to drop out after like a month or 1.5months iirc, 'twas too much

i have no idea how it's possible to keep on top of everything without a sitter in a diff timezone once the game goes past 1-2 months

seriously don't play this game, stay the hell away from it (unless you're gaul)

Yeah, it's a stupidly addicting game. It just requires so much maintenance once you get past a certain point. When you've got like, 15 villages, a tonne of troops, and a crapload of people to raid all the time, you schedule part of your life around it--at least if you want to win. I loved being teutons though. There's nothing worse than having something ridiculous like -100k crop/hour and having to constantly send supplies to that village. I forgot about it one day and over half my army starved to death. Suffice it to say, no desire to start over. Good luck though

lol, I can't help but be amused anytime there's a Travian thread here on TL. It's always going to be haji smashing the game and then yelling at me. Then I have to make a reply since my name was mentioned, haha.

Travian can be fun but I echo the sentiments of everyone else who played on S4 that it seriously takes too much time. Unless you have a job where you're indoors 90% of the week and you sit in front of a computer all the time, this game is not for you. The burn out rate is immense because by the time you hit double digit villages, the game feels like a chore than something for fun.

If you play for glory, I advise you to stack multiple people per account. It'll make the mundane tasks more bearable. Oh, and there are greasemonkey scripts that can make live a whole lot easier but those are "against the rules".
